Here is a pic of a casualty of my recent tank troubles. This poor thing has no polyps, just holes where the polyps used to be. I don't know if it's going to make it or not, can a coral survive with no polyps?.
You can see where cyano has settled on any bare skeleton showing but most of the coral is still there http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ril2408045.jpg |
Marie,
Beautiful 175g Bowfront, as always. Anthony |
The tank looks awesome.
Sorry about the coral. It's in pretty rough shape but you never know, it could turn around. I guess it depends on what caused the stress and if it's able to overcome that. I have the same thing going on. Just randomly pieces that were doing really well, will suddenly succumb and look like that. The holes are dead polyps or basically what's left after the polyp is gone. I have had 3 frags this week alone that suddenly declined. I'll probably lose them all. :( Good luck. |
unless its pure white, let it try and recover. it may make it

Beautiful looking!
What kind of anemone is that? |

It's brown, still has tissue just no polyps and has been like this (except for a little bit of tissue loss that is covered in cyano) since Jan.
Because it has encrusted onto the rock and another coral beside has grown into it, it's going to have to remain there whether I want it to or not  |
Another great round of pictures!
