Riverfront Aquariums

I know this store isnt to popular here but i thought i would post anyway.

They have recently finished a complete reno of their salt water section. ALL NEW TANKS. they have added 4 or 8 90G for larger fish. also changed the coral tanks. they are getting 3 Fish order this week i am unaware of when they will make it to the display tanks. for those unaware they have 300 tanks in the back ..

They have built all new shlelves and done a decent job. it may be a worth while stop if you have not been there in a while.

I will be stopping in later today so i will ask a few more questions about the new set up. also im not sure so i didnt want to say but i believe all the tanks in the back are Qts. i willl find out. its just nice to know that things are qtd before making it to the sale tanks.

If want to find out anything else about this store post questions before 100 and i will ask while im there if i dont already know the answer.

Hmm I'll be interested to see what you find out when you are down there. I live downtown so it'd be cool if they got their act together on the marine side of things.

They just finished they second half and are now starting to add livestock it actuall looks great now. painted the shelves blue for color. i cant wait to see it fully stocked. jumping in the shower now and heading down.

Ok so the tanks in the back are for qting FW fish and Acclimatizing sw fish. the sw fish all get a fw dip before going into displays. its looking good so far.

As far as the tanks go they have numorous 10G acouple of 50 G and acouple of 130G. as their new displays.

Hmm... maybe a walk over on my lunch Friday would be worthwhile.

Does that place even have the staff base to make SW viable yet? I don't mean to downplay the knowledge of any of the current employees, but let's not kid ourselves. Last I was there, the SW section was a practice in serious mismanagement.

Best off to deal with chtistian or wayne or (dave i think) when dealing in SW at riverfront. i certainly will not argue that some of the staff is less than helpful in this department. i am hoping things will get better when all is said and done.

I just walked over there. I can say it is better than it was before but still nothing spectacular. They do have two shallow cube tanks that I assume will be for coral, but they are rather small and I do not imagine they can hold too much. It is nice to see that they have some bigger tanks though to hold big fish better than the 10Gallon tanks they used to be in. The prices are better, more realistic to what everyone else is charging.

Not a lot of stock in yet, but it will be interesting to see what happens.

As far as price goes you join a club for $20 a year and get 20% of LS (fish clams reptiles corals etc) and 10% off dry goods (pumps filters food ETC).

Agreed it is nothing spectacular, but its a great deal better than it was before.

I'd have to agree with Sean on this one also. I don't think anyone ever didn't like the place because of old SW tanks. I think it was more the state of those tanks and the livestock that folks didn't like.

Thread closed. Informational became ratings.
