new frag rack and frags

i know this is pretty lame compared to some of your frags racks and tanks but i was excited to finally figure out a spot to mount a frag rack and it doesnt effect the tank viewing. i just need about 2 or 3 more of these with all the frags i want to cut. these guys are only a week old and i thought they would have browned up first but they coloring nicely. they were cut from the lower side of the colonies so they were pretty brown to start.

Can you show us (ok..me) a photo of the frag rack from a distance? Where you stuffed it into that tank so that it didn't effect tank viewing?

Hey Colin,

nice to see the new frag rack out of the way there. To make it less noticable you should go with the black egg crate. They sell it at Rona it's stealth and I'm gonna definately use it when my new prop tank is up....
Btw I like the tricolour, green mille, and blue monti.

niloc16 03-11-2008 01:19 AM

i didnt even think of using the black stuff. thanks man

Myka 03-11-2008 01:39 AM

How did you get the "arms" to stick to the rack?

Nice green mille!!! Very nice colors on all your corals.

niloc16 03-11-2008 03:15 AM

i just used zap straps

Myka 03-11-2008 03:18 AM

I don't get why the rack doesn't fall down to be vertical...?

Haloreef 03-11-2008 03:27 AM

Hey Colin, I have about half a million small black zap straps for the "stealth" rack if you need them. Any piece of the tri colour left, let me know.
Keith.

niloc16 03-11-2008 04:05 AM

sorry there is other pieces that go right around the edge of the tank and it hangs like that.

Good looking frag rack. It's nice that you can hide it behind that power head. Alot nicer then what mine looks like.

When those frags are ready I would like to get a frag of the blue montie.
Thanks Chris

Colin here's a pic of my frag rack when I made it awhile ago I put a fence around it and used sillycone.

The great thing about the fence is it adds strength to the support but more importantly I stick frags on the side aswell double the space!!

niloc16 03-11-2008 05:37 AM

nice job tang daddy. just so you guys know cuz there has been a few inquiries the blue monti's are actually rainbow montis.

tang daddy 03-11-2008 05:42 AM

Thanks for the comp Colin, and yah I meant the rainbow monti please get me a frag of that!

bv_reefer 03-11-2008 06:39 AM

Hey niloc16 i just made two of those a couple months ago for my gsp and ackward shaped frags, it works great, made it so my green star polyps don't invade everything around them!

As you mentioned the best and most stable way to go about it is 1/2'' eggcrate and zapstraps for the sides, and just push it into you're sandbed. Another great thing is that if you use the 1/2'' eggcrate, it works with the coral cradles. btw, Wicked Frags!!!:razz:can't wait till I fill mine up like that

Chowder 03-11-2008 04:52 PM

Same here Colin I meant Rainbow montie>
