Is the the Palau one? Yeah it's definitely worth seeing. I recorded it the last time OLN played it (I love how they sometimes play old IMAX films on Sundays), watch it everytime I need some eye candy.

It is features Hawaii and Palau alot, it made me look into how I can help conserve our reefs when I first saw it over 10 years ago. It throws alot at you in 40 mins!!! Very worth while to see. And the first main inspiration to my eventual goal of living in Palau for at least a year in the near future...

I watched about the first 20 mintues and called it a night. For every 3 minutes of program they seemed to show 2 minutues of commercials.. too late at night for that :p

Unfortunately I think all those IMAX films from the 80's and 90's are around 40 minutes long, so yeah, the commercial loading is brutal to fill it up to an hour slot. The other thing is just how much Sting music is played over and over and over. In fact I think Mcgillivray or whatever his name is has done several IMAX films involving dolphins and Sting music. How fragile we are. How fragile we are. It gets a little repetitive after a (How fragile we are) while and soon it (How fragile we are) starts to get a little (How fragile we are) annoying (How fragile we are). I'm an Englishman in New York ... oops, I mean, How fragile we are.

Nevertheless it's still good to watch. Palau is a wicked looking place, I love the mushroom shaped islands. And the scenes with the family on the motorboat zipping along going under the archways and low overhanging branches and stuff.. I remember the audience usually gasping a bit when seeing this film in the IMAX back in the day.

And the surfing and stuff in Hawaii. Ahhh... sigh.. Living in Calgary and watching this stuff on TV just doesn't quite cut it.

Actually I kind of miss having an IMAX. It really sucks that they're no longer around, at least the one in Eau Claire would show these IMAX films and not just the Hollywood movies on the IMAX screen like what Chinook does. Does Chinook even play documentaries on their IMAX screen? I never see anything advertised. :neutral:

Im in Vancouver all the time, always check out the documentaries at the IMAX, they have 2! CN Center IMAX and Science World IMAX, they both show alot of documentaries and very few hollywood productions. I too remember the crowd and myself leaning from side to side as the speed boat goes around the many islands of Palau. Seeing it at an IMAX takes it to a whole other level!

We used to have 2. The one downtown (the better one for stuff like this) went out of business a few years ago. :(

oh well, next time... I've neen lloking at getting maybe "Blue Planet" (I think it's called?) I've seen a couple of clips on it, looked pretty cool.

ive seen some of BLUE PLANET on discovery it was incredible.
