Power outage North Calgary

I know power is out in parts of Panorama, but not sure where else. I snooped around the enmax site but couldnt find anything, does anyone know where you can find what areas are affected?

Makes me nervous!

I generally try the radio for a quick update on conditions. You may have to endure a crappy pop song or two, though!

no idea stiil on in bowness. i just found out that riverfront has battery operated air pumps;. i will be picking one up BEFORE the next outage (hopefully) last time power went out i had to use a car battery to power mine.

Power is out down south too in Woodsomething or other (yes I STILL don't know which neighborhood I live in). Its been on and off for the last couple of hours. Today I heart my battery back up and my laptop!

Batter back up powers tank and modem, laptop powers itself, perfect combo!

Woodbine? not wildwood? the only communities i can think of right now with "wood " in them...

HEHE you said wood. HEHE

michika 02-28-2008 07:48 PM

Apparently there are like 3 of them that start with wood, and even more then end with it. Eventually I will learn where I live, and I will remember it!

So what kind of power outtages are people seeing? I have flickering power, and I assume some people are just without.

Der_Iron_Chef 02-28-2008 07:50 PM

Catherine, you're in either Woodlands or Woodbine. I forget....but that was my hood growing up :)

I'm in the SE (barely--intersection of Anderson Rd. and MacLeod Trail), and the power has been stable here all day.

im across the street from Panorama and my power has been fine all day- you must be unlucky today

Problem solved here...our neighbor was playing at Electrician. Manager was here looking for a real one. Seriously why do people always dabble in the trades were a little bit of knowledge is dangerous?

ElGuappo 02-28-2008 08:20 PM

come on throw a little saltwter on the electrical issue and were all pros right ? ! ? i will try anything trade wise except electrical. shocked my self once when i was welding and never want a jolt from a 220 again.

Anyone know how long outage in Panorama lasted? Just noticed my tank is 2 degrees lower than usual.

jasond 02-29-2008 12:30 AM

I think it was off and on, just in the morning. I am in coventry, and my tank appears to be normal (my parents are in panorama, they told me).

BMW Rider 02-29-2008 03:53 PM

I'm in Country Hills and my power was off for 54 minutes 12 seconds according to my Aquatronica controller. No problems with the tanks, the Noma backup power units kept the main pumps running just fine. Temperatures were not significantly lowered afterward even though the heaters are not on the backup supplies.

Hi Ed, the power back ups that you have, did you get them at crappy tire? You are happy with them? I am starting to think they might be worth the money. If the power went out and something went wrong, I wouldnt find out till I get home at 6:00!

Yes they are the CT ones, they seem to work very well. I went with the smaller size ones so I only run the return pumps on them and nothing else. They ran for nearly an hour yesterday and were showing about 60% power remaining. I checked them about 10 minutes into the outage and they were all ready down to that value and then did not drop further until the power was back on. When I first got them, I calculated that they should run my pumps for about four hours. Hopefully I never need more time than that. So far this was by far the longest outage I've needed them to cover.

I seen on the website the 400W ones are about $200, is that similar to yours?

BMW Rider 03-01-2008 03:23 AM

That would be the same one. I got them on sale for less than that. Might pay to be patient as they seem to always have sales at CT.
