Christy's 90gal Tank - 2008
Thought I'd post up some new photos as I haven't done so in awhile. I noticed that I'd started a thread about this time last year as well and thought it would be neat to compare last year with this year.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/jan42007.jpg April 2007 after moving the tank to its new home http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...april92007.jpg And today :) http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3.../jan162008.jpg Lighting hasn't changed, just cameras/settings  |
Looks Good Christy, Your going to have to trim some of those fancy stick.there getting big
J |
Tanks looking great Christy.
|
Very nice Christy. The tang sure changed colours though.
Now how about some close up shots of some of those corals. |
Good idea Greg. That way we will be able to know what ones we want to trade or buy frags of.
|
Hey Christy looking good, your regal has grown and then some same with your corals everything looks healthy I third the close ups.
Cheers Chris |
Looks great Christy!
|
Looks great. Glad to see you posting pics of a successful tank instead of the algae problems you had a few years back. Your patience and hard work show!!

Nice to see your Regal finally decided to morph to his natural blue colors.. |
Nice changes! I do miss the purple regal tang though.
|
Alright, one more photo of the rare, elusive purple Regal tang  It would be pretty dang cool if he actually was that color.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6855.jpg Ok and now gratuitous photos! http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6893.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6887.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6884.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6882.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6853.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6852.jpg |
And just to show that I do have a serious problem. Yes folks, they are the same coral. And this isn't the first time I've done this
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6837.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6830.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6829.jpg my little prize from wickedfrags. unfortunately my wrasse loves to play with it. It fits in here nicely and he leaves it alone. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6827.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/Dscn6826.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6906.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6903.jpg |
Thats some nice stuff you got there Christy. Tank looks nice after all those problems you had in the Spring/Summer.
|
Good looking tank, especially considering how much time you are away from it all the time.
I would end up reverting to mostly softies with a few lps if I had to work in one city & have my tank setup in another, a ferry ride away. Anthony |
Very nice. i think i will have to sneak over with my clippers one night.
|
Lots of nice stuff to be had in your tank. The wickedfrags piece is really cute, and the colors are lovely. Thank you for the picture of the elusive purple regal tang!
|
Nice pics Christy, Tank looks really good.
|
Had the camera out yesterday, thought I'd update this thread.

Very nice tank.

Hi Christy
Your tank is looking Gooooood. Everything seems to be healthy and doing well. Both Colour and polyp extension are fantastic. Tom R |

Thanks for all the compliments guys
I'm not so sure if being here has really helped the tank. I just haven't done anything stupid lately. Don't worry, I'm sure its coming... As for the wafer algae control. I've been thinking of adding a naso. I don't really know much about their personalities/disposition with other tangs. I'll have to start my research. The wafer algae isn't totally bad, I've been removing a good portion of it manually. Some of it has really conformed to the rock though which makes it difficult. When it starts to encroach on the corals is when I'll really have to lay the smack down  |

Awesome! Thanks for the info
|
wow looks good!
I really like the piece to the left of the urchin what is it a tri colour gorgeous. I find the algar wafer stuff to be a pain aswell but fairly easy to rid pulls off in one piece. |
Thought I'd post up a more recent photo of the tank. Discovered I had montipora eating nudibranchs in my tank (yay another one to add to the list ) so off I set in search of a treatment. Discovered my wrasse loves to eat them when he can reach them (he's a lardo and hardly fits anywhere). However a couple of caps were really too far gone and quite frankly they were taking up prized real estate that my new Coral Master frags needed
Anyhoo I took the plunge and my tank went from this: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...une282008b.jpg to this: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3.../july52008.jpg I did end up treating the caps with potassium permanganate and put a couple smaller pieces back in the tank. I'll be watching them closely. If you can believe that piece in front by the scopas tang is my YELLOW cap. Crazy eh? I also fragged my A. tenuis which was looking like arse and kept the better looking live parts. It was just a home for caulerpa mostly anyways (which is yet another story). edit: the tank looks brighter cuz I taped the blue plastic on the back properly, it was falling off. Heh I just figured that out, makes the tank much brighter  |
How come your tunze streams aren't all covered in corraline algae, like mine.
These were soaked in vinegar 6 weeks ago http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../polyps001.jpg |

Christy your tank is looking good. |
WOW Christy! I think it looks really really good! In this case a bad thing led to a very good thing! AND look at ALLLLLL that real estate to put frags in!
|
Your tank looks great! I need some more frags from the coral master ;). But am waiting for my calc reactor to arrive first blah!
|
You're tank is Lookin' Fine! And I've missed seeing Ol' Purple Face.
