Easy Coral ID

So this will be an easy one for most of you, but I have forgotten what this is called, and I cannot find it online.

It is not GSP, as the polyps are very close together and alot smaller. Also they are very vibrant, and not muted in color. Grows on a purple mat similar to GSP, and can fully retract into the mat.

Here is a picture:

That sounds right. I believe that is what it was sold to me as. I was thinking Galaxia, but a little searching told me that that was wrong.

Looks simalar to this, but I have never seen sweepers on it.

Absolutely not a galaxy coral and to me just looks like green star polyps.

justinl 12-10-2007 08:22 AM

andresont 12-10-2007 01:49 PM

GSP

Jason McK 12-10-2007 02:03 PM

my GSP looks just like that.

Der_Iron_Chef 12-10-2007 02:20 PM

I'm jumping on the GSP bandwagon. Definitely not Galaxia.

Joe Reefer 12-10-2007 02:35 PM

GSP, can you take a pic of this coral all sucked in?

BC564 12-10-2007 05:27 PM

It looks exactly like my GSP.........

Todd 12-11-2007 04:23 AM

Well, it was definitely sold to me as not GSP from a LFS. Not saying that it isn't GSP though. May change my opinion of the that store though if it is, as I payed more then I would have for GSP.

Here is a picture of it 'all sucked in'.

Last picture looks like my GSP.

Skimmin 12-11-2007 06:45 AM

gsp

It's a type of star polyp. Not a standard GSP though. I have the exact same stuff in my tank. It's a brighter green and the polyps are curly.

Todd 12-11-2007 06:50 AM

It looks similar to GSP, but the heads are much closer together and smaller then any GSP that I have seen, and it is also much brighter green. Not too sure about the curly polyps though - what do you mean by this Skimmin?

Drock169 12-11-2007 07:11 AM

Its a GSP, there are tons of different types, ones with white centers, ones that grow denser than other, ones that have metallic green, ones that are more brown, etc. you get the point. Its a GSP without a doubt.
