Reef Raf's new tank photo journal

Well after spending the after noon at Brads helping with his sump and stands I figured it was time to post some pics.

first one is a pic of any self respecting bachelor's kitchen

rock and all

First we had to put the partial stand Brad built the other night in the closet
http://members.shaw.ca/s.l.s/brad/sumpstand.jpg

the we carried the sump down and found problem # 1
http://members.shaw.ca/s.l.s/brad/bigtank.jpg

so wanting to move on we next did the surface of the stand, this is what happens when Brad does the measurements

After some heavy grunting and a few sore fingers and one foot
http://members.shaw.ca/s.l.s/brad/sumponstand.jpg

http://members.shaw.ca/s.l.s/brad/sumponstand2.jpg

with that in place and some discussion about plumbing and pumps, we decided to move on to making his Main tank stand look pretty.

after

and if he is on time and didn't get lazy it should be stained by now.

The bubble at the bottom is a bit visible, and the doors will help, but it turned out well. Final shiny coat tomorrow.
Found some great foam for under the tank at HD...

Looking good. So exactly how where you able to get the sump into the small door. Do you have that new bendy glass :)

Ya, we just folded the tank in half and in it went!! hehe

Nah, we just layed the tank down and slid it into the doorway. Getting it around the wall studs onto the stand was a different story though. Bloody thing weighs about 200 pounds!!

ya looks like we'll have to get a syringe and inject some glue into that spot and clamp it for a day or two.

Well, it's a case of "all that work" or "empty beer". Can't have both or all that work needs to be redone. :)
