Anyone from Calgary want anything from OA?

Thinking of doing an order (livestock), let me know if you want anything that we can share shipping on.

Finaddict 10-05-2007 05:20 PM

tony i think there are doing free shipping next week on livestock.

i might be in for a few things...

Delphinus 10-05-2007 05:22 PM

Didn't even know that. That pushes me over the fence, I'm no longer "thinking about it" I'm totally doing it now. :)

muck 10-05-2007 06:08 PM

lol...Tony, we all know your fence is only 2 feet high anyways.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 10-05-2007 07:43 PM

Actually, his fence is more like a sloped curb (angled towards making a purchase of course). I know mine is:biggrin:

Delphinus 10-05-2007 08:02 PM

True dat. :p

The offer still stands of course to share on shipping, .. unless there's no minimum or something like that (seems unlikely - they're not going to send a $40 coral by itself and pay the $60 for shipping).. plus, it's nicer for OA to only pack up and ship one box as opposed to many boxes. "Be kind rewind!" Err, I mean, "be kind, order once." Hmm doesn't have the same ring to it  you guys get what I mean! Err, mean what I get! Mean what I know? Know what I mean???

Der_Iron_Chef 10-05-2007 10:52 PM

I might be in for something.

Delphinus 10-05-2007 11:14 PM

Ok I spoke to Wendell and the free shipping deal is confirmed.

However, ... the minimum order is $450 to qualify.

My little $40 Platygyra falls a little short of that. Soo .. I'm definitely interested in trying to get a group order together here. If anyone wants anything please post here or PM me and we'll see if we can hit the mark!!!

michika 10-05-2007 11:18 PM

If someone is willing to hold my stuff I would be interested in jumping in.

I'll be in Calgary the weekend of 27th-28th, returning the early afternoon of the 28th.

Delphinus 10-05-2007 11:21 PM

Guess I'll mention, I'm sort of interested in pursuing a shared order even if we don't make the free shipping. Shipping is typically $60, if we could get a couple of items to cost share this down to about $10 or so per item, I'd still be interested in going ahead.

Delphinus 10-05-2007 11:22 PM

Hi Catherine, depends on how much stuff, as space is sort of at a premium right now, but as long as I could fit it in somewhere, I could do that for you.

michika 10-05-2007 11:27 PM

Just an FYI shipping was $55 here yesterday.

I would probably want some frags, and maybe a clam. The clams are to die for... I wouldn't want much, mostly tiny items.

Delphinus 10-05-2007 11:37 PM

Yeah $60 seems to be the magic shipping number for livestock from pretty much anywhere (give or take a few maybe)... :)

Der_Iron_Chef 10-06-2007 12:05 AM

Catherine, which clams specifically are to die for?!

michika 10-06-2007 12:18 AM

Why you want to snatch them up?

There are a couple in the maxima section and crocea section that I think look nice. Although the ones I was looking at earlier seem to have gone off the website.

Zylumn 10-06-2007 12:51 AM

I am interested in about a 100$ order maybe more.

Delphinus 10-10-2007 04:35 PM

Bumpity :)

Ok so if we went ahead, who's in? I know one person for sure besides me (Blue Ram). Michika, Finaddict, Zylumn, Der_Iron_Chef, are you guys ready to order anything?

Anyone else?

Here's what I'd like to propose: If you're in, please get in touch with OA, get your order in, tell them you'd like to ship it with "Tony's order" (my one and only thing, haha), and take care of payment. I'll email Wendell right now and tell him that's what I've asked everyone to do.

If we meet free shipping, great, if not, then I'll pay for the shipping and we can square up at the time of arrival. If we're all "in", then shipping costs should be less than $10 per person. I hope this is OK. Again, I'll tell Wendell that I'll be on the hook for the shipment cost so that he doesn't have to do anything about that when taking your order.

On that matter though, it doesn't actually matter to me if I land the shipment or if someone else does. I can do it if nobody else wants to. I live in Evergreen (SW). Should it for some reason work better if someone else lands it, we can cross that bridge later.

Sound OK? Let me know, thanks. And please let me know if you're in or out. Thanks!!

michika 10-10-2007 04:50 PM

I'm still in, I'm just waiting on confirmation that they have what I want.

Delphinus 10-10-2007 05:02 PM

I hear there's a Walt Smith SPS order coming in very soon ... should be good for some spectacular SPS... SPS gurus, come on you know you want some!!! :p

michika 10-10-2007 05:07 PM

Tony I'm starting to think my fence is like your curb....I am now definitely in...crap...oh well paychecks are for spending right?

Zylumn 10-10-2007 06:18 PM

sent order to wendall not sure how much

jasond 10-10-2007 06:38 PM

Is there still room for me to squeeze an order in??? I will have to take a look tonight to see exactly what I need (want), but would definately like in!

Jason

Blue Ram 10-10-2007 06:53 PM

I have placed my order with Wendell - total approx. $100

Der_Iron_Chef 10-10-2007 06:55 PM

I'll take a look at what they have!

Delphinus 10-10-2007 06:58 PM

Awesome!

Jasond, yep, hop aboard !!

jasond 10-10-2007 08:05 PM

Sounds good, keep me posted! I will make my list up.

sandyd 10-10-2007 08:07 PM

OA order

I'm interested too.

Zylumn 10-12-2007 03:32 AM

my order was a little over $250.00 let me know eta.
Kevin

michika 10-12-2007 03:46 AM

I'm sorry, but I will have to pass on the order. I'm worried something is off in my tank, and I don't want to set anything off by adding livestock at a bad time.

jasond 10-12-2007 04:24 AM

I will call Friday and get my order in. How does it work as far as livestock goes? I am not getting much, just some inverts, but I have never bought online/shipped....

My order will be fairly small...say $60 or $70.

Der_Iron_Chef 10-12-2007 08:21 AM

I ended up not wanting anything! Hopefully you guys can still work it out, etc.

BC564 10-12-2007 03:46 PM

When is this order going in?

Delphinus 10-12-2007 03:47 PM

Ok, so a couple people are in, a couple aren't .. I'm not sure we'll hit the free shipping mark. Do we want to wait for a few stragglers to hop on, or should we just put the lid on this now and get the stuff shipped?

BC564 10-12-2007 03:59 PM

Sorry I just jumped on this towards the end....what is the magic number for no shipping charge

Delphinus 10-12-2007 04:06 PM

No worries :) You have time to get an order in. I'm not sure when the stuff will be shipped, typically it's the next day after everyone's in. Wendell has been patiently waiting to ship me my platygyra for a week and a half, he hasn't complained yet but I'm sure he'd like to get his tank real estate back. :) So probably next couple of days.

$450 I think is the magic number.

My one complication is that if it comes tomorrow, Saturday, I can't land the shipment as I'll be out of town. If someone else wants to land it, that would work though. Or we could just aim for another day.

More than likely though I imagine it will be in the early part of next week. That would be my guess. I haven't discussed it with Wendell yet... I'll try to get ahold of him later today and we can see what works best.

Zylumn 10-12-2007 06:25 PM

I won't be around this weekend myself so during next week would be perfect. Maybe set a order deadline saturday.

Website says free shipping on drygoods at 100 dollars, free shipping on livestock next week.....

Der_Iron_Chef 10-12-2007 06:37 PM

It also said they got a shipment of Tonga SPS yesterday! But I'm not sure if they're putting those up on the site or not. Would be nice to see what they got in!

That's been up there a couple weeks, I thought it actually refers to this week. It's free shipping but you still need a minimum $amount (it's only fair, I mean if it costs $60 to ship something you need to make sure your overall margins are going to be able to cover that.) :) At least that's what I was told.
