LF Cardinalfish

Hi there,

I am looking for a smaller Cardinal (Bangaii) fish for my 12g tank.

I live in the Vancouver area.

Thanks,

Eddie

There are some captive raised ones available here in Victoria.. But i have no idea about Vancouver.

There were some in West Aquarium at Burrad St, around 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for the replies:
Borderjumper - Victoria is a bit out of my way :)
Van-rookie - where is this store located?

Does anyone sell a cardinal from their own tank?

These in Victoria were bred locally by a member here. I know its outta the way..but its only a ferry ride:) These guys are really healthy and eatin like pigs. There were about 20 left when I was there yesterday ( picking up 2 more)

I have one that is always being chased by my other bigger cardinal, you can buy the small one.

It is worth it to make a trip out of your way to get captive bred ones. Maybe if someone on the board is coming over to van they could bring you one or a couple.

Bengaii's are now an endangered species, and will be put on CITES very shortly. Do what you can to prevent them from being taken from the wild!

I myself have wild caught, but I got them before I realized how endangered they were. And they are so easy to breed in captivity- mine breed every 2 weeks! Its just difficult to raise the fry, you need a special setup.

So please reconsider the captive raised ones, or wait around until some pop up here in Van.
