inaccurate post counts

I was going through some pictures on the photoboard and I noticed that this particular user had posted empty comment threads on almost EVERY picture on the photo board.
I also noticed that this paricular user who joined this board only 6 months ago and now has over 1100 posts (average 7.35 posts per day). When I searched for all posts made by that member, he only had about 234 posts.
So i'm wondering why would somebody post empty comment threads on the photoboard?
And do comments made on the photoboards count towards post counts?

yeah I just checked, they do count

not much we can really do about it, I don't feel like resetting the post count every day. Some people have nothing better to do I suppose. Its a good time to point out that post count isn't necessarily indicative of experience. I think most will figure that out when they look at the sign up date.

Take me, for example. :D I just like to hear myself....type?

I noticed that too, Chin. Odd.

well spoken...who really cares about post counts, is it supposed to be indicative of some sort of status?

I think its because he was bored and decided to rate every picture, when you do that it creates a blank comment.. my 2cents

I look at join dates more often then I look at post counts. In fact I have no idea what my post count is

I assume that post counts tend to give the impression of credibility. To me I would rather see what someone has actually accomplished. For me post counts don't mean much. I've seen a lot of "reefers" come and go on this board and many of them had a lot of posts but never really showed they knew anything about the hobby.

When you rate a picture without leaving a comment, the comment field is blank. I think its fine to rate a picture without having to leave a comment.
