Would this be to much?
would this be over skimming for a 46 gallon tank?

yes
use rule of thumb, double tank size for cap |
so the current-usa 125 would be good for my tank. Considering its a bit over stocked with fish.
|
well....
All I'm saying is research the hell out of your Protein Skimmer. If you were to ask Aquarists about most wanna take backs? It 'd be Skimmers........ You found a good one @ that price, all I'm saying is maybe use the same amount of cash for a sexier ride lower cap... get my drift? |

the skimmer is rated for a lower volume of tank water?
and btw.... How did you manage +1000 posts since Apr 07? I love spam on toast with mustard ;) |

there is no such thing as overskimming. buy what you can afford.

Now, for such an irresponsible comment, you buy lunch next. :) |
Being one of your more expensive purchases, consider you may want to go to a larger system in the future, would'nt want a another large expense.
|
for skimmers like prizm you'd probably be ok, but since thats one of the better performing models you might want to do some research..

sure I'll buy, you never answer you phone anyways. seriously though, if you need a new skimmer figure out what you need as a minimum and how much your willing to spend. then buy the best you can for what your willing to spend as long as it meets your needs. there are somethings that are worth money to some people, self cleaning featurs, better pumps ect.. what you have to decide is what is it worth to you.
