Updated pics of my tank - For Michika
Thought I'd start a new thread in the proper forum. My tank thread was getting too long
Ok so a FTS to start: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/aug42007.jpg crocea: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6674.jpg maxima: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6675.jpg and various SPS: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6670.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6671.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6642.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6644.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6649.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6650.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6655.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6658.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6661.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6663.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...5/DSCN6681.jpg |

Yeah I'm pretty happy with them. The gold maxima I've had for about 2-3 years and its grown quite a bit. The crocea I just got earlier this year and man either I they're really touchy or I just freak out easily. Having had only maximas these croceas gape a bit more at the incurrent siphon and every once in awhile it gets cranky and doesn't have its mantle out as much. Took me awhile to figure out that this was "normal" crocea behaviour. I don't have quite the collection you have but then I'm a maxima girl and man, we just haven't had the availablity of them lately (just the super tiny ones that would blow around in my tank). Hoping to change that soon though  |
Croceas are super touchy! I have 3, and the larger one is the crankiest of them all. Super pretty, but never wants to stay open and pretty once the camera has come out.
I love maximas as well, but I agree, they are super hard to find. I can't even find tiny ones, not that I currently have the space for more. :D |
Lookin GREAT Christy

Very nice Cristy  I can remember back with your dino days, so its great to see you having good success. Love the clams also. How do your two tangs get along ? I'd like to find one that I could put with my Sohal.

My tangs get along great! I've had the scopas tang for 4 years, the regal for 2 years and the powder blue I got in may. The scopas and regal have always gotten along and there was no problem introducing the regal to the tank, the two became fast friends and hang out together constantly. The powder blue was a bit more difficult introduction I was quite surprised that the scopas tang was the aggressor in this case and gave the poor PBT a bit of a rough time, I ran the lights on a shorter photoperiod or turned them out when he bothered him too much but after a couple of weeks he figured out where he fit in the heirarchy and things are fine now. For the most part the PBT fits in quite well and they all roar around the tank together  |
Wow, really nice stuff there. I haven't had any success with clams yet. They each last about 4-6 months and then kick it despite all my efforts to save them.
