Do you think they will strive under 2x 175w MH and 2x40w t5 ho actinics?
Do you like them?

Nice frags...was thinking of those for myself too! Guess I'll be waiting a little longer! I just started to keep SPS as I have failed badly for a few years...so can't comment/won't comment on lighting etc...but OA has nice stuff

Mik,

Since your tank is so new & you're still learning about reefing, be aware that keeping sps is one of the most challenging parts of this addiction. You really should learn & make your mistakes with easier to care for softies & LPS.

PS. Thanks for writing in regular English instead of text-speak.

I gotta say thanks too! Much easier for me to understand...I am not a big fan of text-speak

Lol Sea horse fanatic. I have started to use spell check. I prepared my self for the worse with sps put the blue acropora I'm getting in January and the superman montipora i am getting in October. I will probably start staking up with LPS and Softies by the end of this month.

-sps

-he does have pretty good lights i think they'll be ok if put on a high
rock shelf, sps are about light hungry as things come tho!

Renegade 07-18-2007 07:57 AM

What kind of lights do you have ?>

Mik_101 07-18-2007 03:28 PM

I have 2x 175 10k ushio bulbs and ballast and 2x40w T5 h0 actinic.

michika 07-18-2007 03:42 PM

You should be okay provided your water parameters are stable and in the right places. With SPS you really need to be on top of your water quality.

As for your lighting, if you place them higher in your system they should be fine under 175w. Be prepared though, you may experience some color loss at first, but they should recover nicely.

I think you chose nice peices, and with the timeframe for arrival, and I think you'll be ready to provide them an appropriate home.

Mik_101 07-18-2007 04:01 PM

Ya I chose the later time so my water Parliaments are good and so I have some experience wit LPS and Softies.
