Frag swap????

Just want to see if anyone is interested in a frag swap.
All we would need is someone to host it.
Who's in.

fishmaster 06-28-2007 05:20 AM

I'd make a trip over for that!!!!

revgeoff 06-30-2007 03:27 PM

We should try to convince Jason to hold it again. Hey, he is just around the corner from me.

Was Sunday good for everyone (I'm pretty sure it was on a Sunday).

CLINT 06-30-2007 03:37 PM

frag swap

i might be in ya fish face should host it..

deep6er 07-04-2007 03:45 AM

I guess we should pick a day.
How does July 29 sound its a sunday.
And would anyone like to be the host?

Reefer Rob 07-04-2007 03:56 AM

I would, but I don't have a big enough yard.

Chaloupa 07-07-2007 04:11 PM

I'm in for purchasing a few if the frag trade is still on? And early enough...we're coming to Van for the fireworks on the 28th and staying overnight....

deep6er 07-07-2007 04:32 PM

As of right now it does not seem that to many people are interested. So I think we will wait a few more days and see if more people are willing to go.
And we still don't have a host. I think maybe to make it worth it for the host we should have an admission fee, maybe $2.00 per person or couple.
anyone have any thoughts on this?

SeaHorse_Fanatic 07-07-2007 04:50 PM

Let me discuss it with my wife. We have a big enough yard (4-plex) and enough fish tanks to float everything in I think. I'll have to see if she's willing.

Anthony

Chaloupa 07-07-2007 05:51 PM

Anthony...that would be GREAT! I would pay an admission...no problem! I hope more people are interested as that would be a great weekend for me!!!

justinl 07-07-2007 06:59 PM

depending on what time it's at i coould probaly show up to steal a few corals!

it would be awesome if you and Irene could host it Anthony... it's at least sort of accessible (as opposed to chiliwack or something)

Jason McK 07-07-2007 10:21 PM

I believe the Reef Network BBQ and Frag swap is on the 28th at Untained's house.

Oh a BBQ!
Jason can you tell us more about it?

Jason McK 07-08-2007 01:19 AM

Information will be updated here and likly on Canreef once plans get more firm

untamed 07-16-2007 05:10 AM

Sorry...I was away for a week or so. (which was a challenge for the tank, but that is another thread...)

I was looking at Saturday, July 28 for a BBQ and get together. I had not really planned a frag swap as part of that, but I suppose we could try that.

I don't have a tank that could be used to float things. Someone could volunteer to arrive early and bring that along.

skylord 07-16-2007 05:20 AM

I can bring a 33g and or a 29g.

Scott

TheReefGuy 07-16-2007 05:22 AM

Trading bits of corals - a lot cheaper than buying everything retail plus you get to meet all the other nutjobs in this hobby. :)

Mik_101 07-16-2007 06:26 AM

Are they worth going to I also never whent to one and if I did i dont have any corals to trade.

Chaloupa 07-16-2007 06:30 AM

Oh yes, they can be very very worth it!!! If you don't have anything to trade..just bring cash! Works every time!!! AND you get to meet the people that are online and put faces to the names...I enjoyed the 2 I have been to, I got some awesome corals both times!

Mik_101 07-16-2007 06:39 AM

Are some of them rare and things like that.

Chaloupa 07-16-2007 06:40 AM

not rare so much as stuff I didn't have before and I'd rather buy a frag than a colony....it's a cheaper way to build your reef...

Mik_101 07-16-2007 06:43 AM

Ya I would realy like to go to 1 but im only 14 and it would seem wierd.

CLINT 07-16-2007 10:40 PM

age is a number

I only wish my parents let me have a tank when I was 14,that was no where near as tough as getting my wife to let me get 1 at the age of 27. Lucky you that's what I say.

Dragonsteeth 07-17-2007 12:12 AM

Im in 28th or 29th. I can bring a couple of small frags from my humble 33G, nothing exciting though. Unless anyone wants my BTA (about 1' wide fully out and looking for smaller one as trade)

Great!...plan for that. I've probably got a table that could sit on.

BBQ & Frag Swap

Mind if I tag along - I don't have any frags to trade, but I'd love to come and maybe buy some or just get to meet you folks. I'm new to the hobby - my tank is about 4 months old - but I'm having a great time so far and would look forward to meeting you.

Cheers,
Gord.

Of course. I've proven already that it is pretty easy to have more than 12 people all looking into the tank at the same time!

robert 07-19-2007 06:01 AM

No frags to trade at this point, but I may be interested in buying some. I'm in if there is space still available.

Cheers!!!

Midknight 07-22-2007 01:56 AM

I would love to come if there is still room at the inn.

NateL 07-22-2007 02:11 AM

I would like to make it out there as well. I have nothing but a couple softie frags, but would love to take a look at Brads tank.

untamed 07-22-2007 05:08 AM

Here's the official invite:

#66, 1701 Parkway Blvd., Coquitlam. (approx across the street from Westwood Academy Golf)

Saturday, July 28 Open House 2PM to 6PM.

Unfortunately, parking at my place may be worse than Tom's. There are only 4 guest parking spots near the house. I would recommend that you park on Parkway Blvd.

Brad.

untamed 07-28-2007 11:49 AM

We have plenty of burgers, so don't feel you need to bring any meat for the BBQ!

Brad.

Gordon H 07-29-2007 12:05 AM

Sorry - I have to jam

It turns out I have to go to Brazil early tomorrow morning, so I will have to pack and prepare tonight so I won't be able to make it tonight. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone and comparing notes. I'll look forward to the next BBQ when I can meet you all. Have a great time.

Cheers,
Gord.

Tom R 07-29-2007 12:56 AM

Thank you Brad for hosting.

Your system is fantastic. We will watch it grow over the next few molnths.
