Just want to see if anyone is interested in a frag swap.
All we would need is someone to host it.

I'm in for purchasing a few if the frag trade is still on? And early enough...we're coming to Van for the fireworks on the 28th and staying overnight....

As of right now it does not seem that to many people are interested. So I think we will wait a few more days and see if more people are willing to go.
And we still don't have a host. I think maybe to make it worth it for the host we should have an admission fee, maybe $2.00 per person or couple.

Let me discuss it with my wife. We have a big enough yard (4-plex) and enough fish tanks to float everything in I think. I'll have to see if she's willing.

depending on what time it's at i coould probaly show up to steal a few corals!

it would be awesome if you and Irene could host it Anthony... it's at least sort of accessible (as opposed to chiliwack or something)

I believe the Reef Network BBQ and Frag swap is on the 28th at Untained's house.

Sorry...I was away for a week or so. (which was a challenge for the tank, but that is another thread...)

I was looking at Saturday, July 28 for a BBQ and get together. I had not really planned a frag swap as part of that, but I suppose we could try that.

I don't have a tank that could be used to float things. Someone could volunteer to arrive early and bring that along.

I can bring a 33g and or a 29g.

What is a frag swap? never been to one.

Trading bits of corals - a lot cheaper than buying everything retail plus you get to meet all the other nutjobs in this hobby. :)

Are they worth going to I also never whent to one and if I did i dont have any corals to trade.

Oh yes, they can be very very worth it!!! If you don't have anything to trade..just bring cash! Works every time!!! AND you get to meet the people that are online and put faces to the names...I enjoyed the 2 I have been to, I got some awesome corals both times!

Are some of them rare and things like that.

not rare so much as stuff I didn't have before and I'd rather buy a frag than a colony....it's a cheaper way to build your reef...

Ya I would realy like to go to 1 but im only 14 and it would seem wierd.

I only wish my parents let me have a tank when I was 14,that was no where near as tough as getting my wife to let me get 1 at the age of 27.:biggrin: Lucky you that's what I say.

Im in 28th or 29th. I can bring a couple of small frags from my humble 33G, nothing exciting though. Unless anyone wants my BTA (about 1' wide fully out and looking for smaller one as trade)

Great!...plan for that. I've probably got a table that could sit on.

Mind if I tag along - I don't have any frags to trade, but I'd love to come and maybe buy some or just get to meet you folks. I'm new to the hobby - my tank is about 4 months old - but I'm having a great time so far and would look forward to meeting you.

Of course. I've proven already that it is pretty easy to have more than 12 people all looking into the tank at the same time!

No frags to trade at this point, but I may be interested in buying some. I'm in if there is space still available.

It turns out I have to go to Brazil early tomorrow morning, so I will have to pack and prepare tonight so I won't be able to make it tonight. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone and comparing notes. I'll look forward to the next BBQ when I can meet you all. Have a great time.
