Grim's Reef Tank v.2
Well, my leaking tank provided me with the opportunity for a few improvements. I've got a drilled tank, with a display refugium/sump, and I'll be able to ditch my fish and sandbed. Still waiting for 'fuge lighting. I'm planning on stocking a pair of true percs, and a royal gramma. Eventually a pair of seahorses in the refugium. I'll move the live rock and corals back in within a few days.

Very cool. I was a bit skeptical regarding the door cut-out and display refugium, but it looks really cool!
Is that stand sturdy? I have one that's made out of plywood right now and my 20gallon is sitting on it. I'm a bit worried because the tank itself is a bit wobbly.
fairly sturdy. i could pull the tank over if i really wanted to, but otherwise it's not going anywhere.
okay, i've got the rock in. and a couple zoos and mushrooms to test the water. i'll be moving water and corals between my two tanks for the next couple days. i should be back up 100% in 2-3 days.

Kewl looking tank. Love the colours of your frogspawn. What kind of light are you using? It really brings out the green in them.
The tank still looks great!
Did you change your livestock when you moved tanks, or is most everything the same? |
wow that is a slick looking tank!
thanks for the comments. :)
the lighting is a 250W Sunpod. Great fixtures. the corals are all the same, except i lost the elegance. it was a combination of a fallen coral accident, and the stress of the tank transfer that put it into recession. i left the fish in the 40 gallon, and i've now stocked two true percs, a royal gramma, a neon goby, and a spotted mandarin. |

Really nice setup, I think more Fuges should be on display. Your's is outstanding. What light is on the Fuge?
Way cool! Thought that was a converted arcade cabinet when i first saw it...
REAL REALY like the hamer coral:wink:
The display fuge is really really nice. The rest of the tank looks great too, but I really like the fuge.

sunpod 250Watt
I am curious of the results with the 250 Watt Sunpod, has it been overkill at all, or would the 150 watt have held you back??
