Lets see them

It's been a while since we've had a "everybody post pics" thread so lets see a pic of your favourite coral

This one was completely brown when I bought it, now everyone comments on it

WOW marie, that is awesome PLEASE let me know when you frag that baby. i will most definitely take one.

christyf5 05-19-2007 01:08 AM

Simply stunning!!

(second in line )

marie 05-19-2007 02:11 PM

Nobody has a favourite coral? Lets see some pics

Chaloupa 05-19-2007 04:04 PM

Beautiful!!!! 3d? in line? Gorgeous coral Marie...now I have to look through my pics (or take a decent one for once) to post a favorite coral of mine

Snappy 05-19-2007 04:20 PM

Great looking coral Marie. Is that some strain of A loripes or A granulosa or what? Awesome!
Tough for me to pick my favorite, it changes almost daily.
It appears you have your camera figured out, nice picture.

christyf5 05-19-2007 05:03 PM

Well I've had it with my camera, the best part of the "favorites" is the color and my camera just ain't gettin it. What camera are you using Marie, yours seems to get the colors right.

marie 05-19-2007 10:50 PM

I've just recently had to get a new camera because the old one bit the dust. My new camera is an olympus sp-510uz and I'm still trying to figure it out.
Some pics are awesome and others are crap  .This is the first "macro" that actually turned out ok

marie 05-20-2007 03:01 AM

Ok, seeing as how everyone else is too shy I'm making this thread all about me

Damn Marie! That growth you are getting is spectacular, I'm so jealous. You must be using Miracle-Gro for reefers or something. I wish I could coax my little frag factory to get moving along.

Ok so these were the best of the pics I took today. Not my favorite but in my top 10 anyways  Ah heck, I have a different favorite every day anyways. After I took these I discovered one of my other favorites had moved up in ranks but has a chunk of halimeda obscuring the photo so I'll have a go at it tomorrow (tank maintenance day, yay )

I'll post a pic of my new favorite as soon as he deigns to stick his polyps out. They're the most gorgeous blue

Nice Marie !

Stunning Piece !

Very nice tank too boot, i love the big stag.

Damn, there all my favorite.

A favorite of mine (this week) is my Mike Palleta L/E A. Lovelli

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...dcorals019.jpg

I guess we can gauge our favorites simply by looking at your tank sill, find where the biggest pile of slobber is on it...then look up again, there it is !

christyf5 05-20-2007 03:15 AM

Hehe I guage mine by the nose prints on the glass

SuperFudge 05-20-2007 03:16 AM

Christy, that second one is a Sweeet piece !

I try and blame the dog for the nose prints but nobody believes me

Christy, I love the acro in the second picture. I'm going to have to visit my daughter in Nanaimo one of these days

christyf5 05-20-2007 03:25 AM

Hehe, I nipped that one out of Wendells display tank when he wasn't looking  Definitely one of my top 3 (and its growing!!!!)

Snappy 05-20-2007 08:01 AM

Looks great you guys. I think I'll just sit back and enjoy the show and drool.
Marc that piece looks like it's almost ready to frag a chunk for me:wink: (can you say "let's make a deal"?)

Snappy 05-20-2007 08:55 PM

Ok I said I would just watch but I can't leave well enough alone.
I don't know that this is my favorite coral but I like what it's been doing over the last 6 months.

The word favourite appears to be a stumbling block here so instead of favourite coral lets look at pics of corals that are doing really well in your system. Ones that have vibrant colour, great growth and makes all your guests say "wow look at that, what is it?"

Snappy, did that coral start to change colour as soon as it was in your tank? or was it in the tank for sometime before it started turning.
You wouldn't by any chance have any plans for moving (with tank and corals) to Powell River sometime in the future

 Thanks Marie but when I move I am hoping it will be southern in direction. (hopefully Mexico?) That coral is one a local reefer buddy decided he didn't like so he sold it to me and it has since changed colour in my tank. I got it either late Sept or early Oct 06 and at the time it looked like the first picture.

fishytime 05-22-2007 04:05 AM

Ok ...I know its just a zoa and not some kick a$$ sps, and its only a wee frag right now but if I had to choose I'd say this is my fav so far.

marie 05-22-2007 05:58 AM

fishytime, nice zoos and this thread isn't just about sps it's about corals with a wow factor

The ric/shrooms and zoos in my little tank have more of the wow factor then anything in my big tank thats full of sps. It's just that my little tank has algae issues and i can't get good pics
If you can ignore the algae the tank looks great and is in fact still my favourite tank

I don't have allot yet, but here are a couple pics. Green and pink frog spawn, and a duncan. I got the duncan from Clint about a month ago and it's already growing 3 new heads. 1 in the picture and 2 on the other side. At this rate, this thing will be a nice colony by this time next year.

Snappy 05-22-2007 10:11 PM

Hershey
your sps looks most likey to be a birdsnest but tough to tell for sure from the photo. How long have you had the pink leather? They had some at a LFS a while back but I didn't buy one because they were dyed pink. That one looks very nice.

vazgor 05-22-2007 10:35 PM

well ive had it about 2 months give or take. i found out after i had bought it that it was probably died and i think its showing symptoms because all the tips are pretty much white as you can see in this pic but it could also just be my lights. It has lasted longer than i had expected. i'll try to get a better pic of my sps tomorrow
