Some pics of Adam's tank

while I was at Adam's measuring his lights I took the opertunity to snap some more pics of his tank. It is always fun to take pics of Adam's, Brad's and other people's tanks as right now mine is rock with twigs sticking out and not large mature colonies.

Those are really amazing. Noticed the new watermarks. Did you end up using the same software as me? :)

Now, how am I going to make a Reef Calendar with those images when the Copyright symbol is stuck onto the images?

Aquattro 12-12-2002 11:36 PM

Adam, every time I se your tank, it get nicer!!! Too bad about the silly copyright that Steve stuck on the pics!! :D

Most likely, you guys have a problem like this:

http://www.telus.net/highspeed/BC/hs...h.html#fifteen

My friends and I have dynamic (DHCP) IP addresses. Are we able to ping each other so that we can play games?

Yes, although this depends on the IP addresses assigned by the DHCP server:
You will have no problems pinging each other if your new packages are assigned with different class C addresses by the DHCP server (e.g. 161.184.155.x and 161.185.156.x).

You will not be able to ping each other if your new packages are assigned with the same class C addresses by the DHCP server (e.g. both 161.184.156.x), although there is a work around.
You must enter arp entries on your PCs:
Example: Customer A (161.184.156.140) wants to play games with Customer B (161.184.156.116)

At the DOS prompt each of you would type:

ping 161.184.156.1
- pings the gateway IP for this class C address

arp -a
- displays the MAC or physical address of the gateway
- e.g. aa-00-0x-00-e5-85)

arp -s (your friend's ip) (mac address of the gateway 161.184.156.1)
- e.g. arp -s 161.184.156.116 aa-00-0x-e5-85
Once you both enter the arp entries, you should be able to ping each other and play games.

Sam, Steve is on Shaw, so most certainly not the same subnet!

Steve, I'm lazy...

:P

Why can't you just post the pics so we don't have to click links? :?

Steve

EmilyB 12-13-2002 05:39 AM

I just knew it was Brad's fault...

Aquattro 12-13-2002 06:42 AM

Can someone tell me what the encrusting-type brownish patch is, in the bottom right-hand of pics # 16 and 29?

As to posting the pics rather than linking them, good luck! This page would never load...

Excellent shots, but huge file sizes... one at a time is better.

Thanks, Alan :D

christyf5 12-13-2002 03:54 PM

Well it must be that thing Sam said (which might as well have been written in Greek, all I understood was telus and IP  ).

I can see the pics fine on my computer at work. Nice pics Steve. Whens the calendar coming out?? :P

Christy :)

AJ_77 12-13-2002 05:20 PM

Thanks Brad, I got a small patch on a rock from Deb, and my best guess needed support.
BTW, nice of you to trust Steve with server access.

Actually, it's his server and he trusts me with access.

AJ_77 12-13-2002 06:00 PM

See, my little joke just went awry... A little OT, but thanks for adding to my confusion - - I thought Island Aquatics was yours. I guess I need a "who's who" for the Island club members.

1. What then is Island Aquatics?
2. Who is the webmaster?
3. Who made that cool splash graphic?

Alan :D

Aquattro 12-13-2002 06:25 PM

I take it this "little joke" stems from the avatar thingy way back, right???

Steve owns Island Aquatics. His server is islandaquatics.ca. I believe Kris made the pretty picture.
I own IslandReef Aquatics. My site is islandreef.ca and is under construction pending my "going live" with skimmer/reactor building. I have no personal stuff there.
The only access avaiable on my server is via ftp. If you're someone special, I can make someonespecial@islandreef.ca email addys (these are generally reserved for wife/kids/etc).
If I had the bandwidth available, I would host sites and/or pics amd/or email, but at this point, I can't do that.

One_Divided 12-13-2002 06:51 PM

Everyone keep in mind my tank is not this white. THe tank is a bit bluer as it is lit by a radium.. Still nice pics though steve :)

THERE we go - thought I was losing my mind. Your site is the one I remember. The title "Island Reef Aquatics" as posted on your site can be said to be eerily similar to Island Aquatics, can it not? :? Kissing cousins? Who came first?

As to my little joke, it was more poking fun at Steve, it failed, I'll be quiet now...

Cheers, great looking tank Adam!

Aquattro 12-13-2002 08:08 PM

AJ, Steve liked my name so much, he tried to get as close to it as possible. I suggested sillysteve.com, but he didn't like that. I hear from another reefer on this board all the time about how Steve copied me...lol :D
BTW, being quiet isn't much fun, so don't do that on my account!!! :P
