Sweet brain! Awesome pictures...
|
Hello,
Very nice. Titus |
Magnificent Rippin!!.Do you have any details of your set up posted ?
......................Dave |
Thanks all!
I wanted to keep the setup fairly simple. This what I have running now:
I feed the three fishes (and the plate, brain and bubble coral) with brine, mysis or squid and NLS pellets. I also feed the filter feeders with phytoplankton and rotifers. Every once in a while I feed with Reef Roids, but don't really know if it makes a difference. I also have a handfull of Halymenia in the tank for excess nutrient absorption. |
Very nice, great pics. Really like the brain and yellow leather. Where did you find such nice big peices ? Notice your not running with a sump ?

The brain was rescued...uh I mean purchased from Big Al's. It needed a good home. Thing is, I haven't seen such a large brain anywhere else for sale. The Yellow Tonga Leather was purchased from a fellow reefer in town. I'm not running a sump because of limited space and wanting to keep things simple. For a 50 gallon, hopefully what I have will suffice. Water changes are 10% weekly. Cheers. |
wow that looks like a really nice set up! even without the growth (mind you, you still have some pretty big ones already). i like your style... simple.
|
Looks good.
|
Wow! Nice pics. Very good. :D
|
GREAT PICTURES!!! I love your ricordea. I believe they are Florida, but what color would you classify them as? That is exactly what I am looking for but I just need to know the color so that I can get exactly them.
Where did you get them from? Rumika |
Very nice, man! Keep it up....

The Ricordeas (sp. ricordia?) are multi-coloured. The one in the foreground is predominantly orange (for the bulbs), but has green skirting and a purple base. The ones in the back are pink with blue skirting and green mouths. I bought the orange rics from Big Al's in Richmond, Vancouver. I purchased the pink ones from Ocean Aquatics. They are kind of pricey, but they look so nice  |
Gorgeous tank Rippin. Love that red lobophyllia in the front.
|
Fantastic Yellow Fiji Leather! WOW

That Hammer picture is the frag that I bought from you. Quote:
Is there a difference between a Fiji or Tonga Yellow Leather? I was told this was a Tonga type but I can't tell the difference. |
Hi Rippen
The tank looks fantastic. The corals are all looking goood. Tom R |

The GSP was the frag that I got from you after the tank tour. |
Now you have to tel us what kind of lens you are using to make these nice pics eh?

I just got a Canon Rebel XT kit (Canon lens included), so when I learn how to use it properly, I'll take new shots and post them up. |

Love the selection.
How are you able to post such large pictures on here....something fishy... |

They are on Shaw's personal server space, so I'm not using Canreef's server to store the images. |
More pictures....

Another Ricordia http://members.shaw.ca/nemod/aquariu...007_06_001.jpg Green Bubble Tip Anemone http://members.shaw.ca/nemod/aquariu...007_06_002.jpg |
And one more...
Flame Hawkfish BTW, so far this fish has been peaceful in my reef setup. No problems with my cleaner shrimp. http://members.shaw.ca/nemod/aquariu...007_08_001.jpg |
I was just about to post a picture I took of my flame hawk tonight by accident, but .. now I'm a bit self-conscious to do so. It won't compare whatsoever to this photo. Dang man, you take some wicked photos. :)

Do you mind sharing your lens brand name details with us? is it still Canon S45 ? |
Quote:
It's still the Canon Rebel XT with stock kit lens. The last 5 images have been taken with that camera. Still looking to invest in a better lens as the stock one does not produce the level of sharpness that I would like. Delphinus, don't worry about being self-conscious about your pics. I think the community appreciates seeing all the varieties of marine livestock, no matter what camera was used. |
rippin.
your clown fish looks like my black saddleback clown. nice pics!!. doubt its a clarkii. |

http://www.wetwebmedia.com/clownfis.htm Go down to the "Amphiprion sebae Bleeker 1853" section. The picture of the clownfish with eggs looks almost like mine. They state that it's a Sebae. Then again, right above it is a picture of a Saddleback that is very similar as well, but no yellow tips on the fins or mouth. Oh well, whatever it is, it's a nice fish. |
Nice corals and amazing photography! That my friend is amazing quality you should be proud!!
|
Wow....what a nice red brain.
I will look for that, it will add a nice color to my tank...as most of the things i have there are green at the moment. this hobby is ripping me off.... |
