FS Edm Solarensis Fairy Wrasse

Yippeee!!! I have sold my entire 120g set up, except for our solarensis fairy wrasse. He needs a home in a tank that is at least 4' long. He's an excellent swimmer, eats PE mysis like crazy, and needs lots of tunnels in the rockwork to be happy. He's currently in a BB tank and is doing well without sand.

Asking $45.

PM with name and phone # if interested.

mark 03-31-2007 03:47 PM

wondering how long he (she) is?

Beverly 03-31-2007 04:54 PM

It's a he and he's gorgeous. Videos of him...

All Fish, but Lots of Wrasse

Wrasse Only

All other fish and the corals in the tank are already spoken for.

solarensis

do you think he would get along with my gaimard's wrasse?

Beverly 04-01-2007 12:38 AM

Oh, Mark, I forgot to tell you he is 4" long. Sorry

tranvictor, I have no idea if he will get along with your wrasse, but I'm thinking not. Maybe someone else with experience with your wrasse can tell you better than I can. I know that my wrasse would not like another wrasse in with him in his current home.

Beverly 04-01-2007 05:46 PM

Bump!

He's a really cool fish just waiting to swim all over your tank :)

Delphinus 04-01-2007 08:59 PM

Were we in the same city I'd be all over this one, I love fairy wrasses ... good luck finding him a new home (free bump)

bubblepuffer 04-02-2007 04:27 PM

Do you have a picture of that fish ?? Is it a community fish? If I want it..I might not able to take it until a month.. still waiting for the big tank to arrive by mid-end of April :(

Beverly 04-02-2007 05:28 PM

bubblepuffer,

No pics of the fish, but if you look in the previous posts, you'll find videos of him

He has to go this long weekend. The tank is being moved on Good Friday. Do you have another tank set up that could house him until your big tank comes? Also, wrasses can be jumpers, so you'll have to cover your tank. Mine is covered in glass and eggcrate.

Hey,

I may be interested. Have you ever had any problems with it picking at corals or clams?

Beverly 04-02-2007 09:29 PM

Catherine,

He does not bother corals at all. I don't have clams, so I can't comment on whether or not he'd pick on them. Maybe Tony might be able to help you out with the clam thing.

Delphinus 04-02-2007 09:41 PM

It should be OK. Fairy wrasses are model reef citizens. Although I've only ever had one tank that housed both clams and a fairy wrasse at the same time, most of the fairies that I've kept were in tanks without clams. But I did have a Cillhilabrus lubbocki in with clams and he never ever bothered the clams.

Here's a good article about fairy wrasses: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/20...hcs3/index.php

michika 04-02-2007 09:55 PM

Thanks for the article Tony.

Bev, I'll go over the article and finish with my research before I let you know for sure if I can give your wrasse a new home.

Quagmire 04-02-2007 11:28 PM

I have a fairy wrasse in with 2 clams and its never given them or my corals a second glance.

michika 04-02-2007 11:36 PM

I am actually going to pass, thank you!

Beverly 04-03-2007 12:33 AM

Thanks for the quick decision, Catherine.

Beverly 04-04-2007 10:04 PM

He's still for sale. $45.00. As Lee says, it's a great deal. I paid AI prices for him.

Pick up Good Friday about 11:00 am - that's when I estimate the tank will be nearing empty :)

michika 04-04-2007 10:12 PM

If nobody takes him by tomorrow night let me know. I will give him a home!

Beverly 04-04-2007 10:15 PM
