Italian tank
Boy those Italians have some nice aquariums. Their tank of the month pages certainly give me inspiration for the kind of reef I want to have some day.
check out this link. http://www.acquaportal.it/ARTICOLI/M...be/default.asp |
oh, I guess that's alright...;)
|
thats krazy wonder what the price tag on that is.
|
Y'know; I clicked the link, and first thought was "Wow Snappy's tank's grown in a lot since december". I see a certain resemblance - maybe it's just me...
|
Here is the English translation:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...%2Fdefault.asp What's amazing about this tank is it's 100% 10K EVC ..no suppliment lighting. It edges out Iwan's tank for color IMO. The most colorful SPS tank out there..I rate it 10/10 for color. |
wowsers
|
Thanks Darryl and interesting english it is.
Andy thanks but I need at least another couple of years before mine will even come remotely close to that. |
Sweet tank!!!
|
Nice tank (although a tad too crowded for my tastes). It must be a full-time job maintaining that aquarium.

Must be nice to have access to HGH.
|
The use of HGH isn't a prerequisite to successful Italian tanks. A lot of them are just using high quality amino acids and Pappone.

I remember seeing this tank along with several others, on a thread from a different site. They were HGH enhanced, according to the other site.
No where did I state that HGH was a prerequisite for successful Italian tanks, I would never generalize Italians like that. |
What's HGH?
Stunning tank, btw  |

And I thought that pappone was a slurry of HGH and various other foods???? |

Is pappone available locally?
|
Hah, if your wife is fine with you wrecking the blender, yes.
http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...08#post9177308 I'd be careful about using it too quickly and without proper Amino's though. |
If you can manage to slog though that thread and a couple of others that I have found it appears that some say that HGH is an ingredient of pappone and some say it isn't. I do know that HGH is used in some Italian tanks but as Albert says who knows if it is just broken down into AA anyway and that you wouldn't be further ahead to just use AA.
|
Those Italians sure are into bathtubs:lol:
|
Corals on juice!!...who would have thunk it.
|
so, has anyone else here ventured into this method?? after reading the RC thread over the past few days, i'm gonna give er a shot. i've gotten all the ingredients to make up the pappone yesterday and concoted that nasty green smoothie. i've just got to get me some amino acids...i'll start feeding tomorrow night and see what happens!
|
Let us know how it works!
|
You guys should start a new thread about this so everyone can follow your progress. Good luck.

I read the threads and other than the AA's I feed a commercial mix that's similar. I find it much easier to handle than trying to make a batch of the pappone, I figure I'd go broke buying icecube trays to make a full batch.
Frankly, I think a tank would have to be fairly mature with significant growth in the first place to justify making the mixture, my tank may be ready for it in a year or two. Doug |

so last night i started with amino acids 1 hour before light out then dosed the pappone at lights out. had some decent polyp extension, nothing too outta the ordinary. i tested parameters this morning and all was fine so i'll dose again in a few days perhaps.
