Ummmmm.

HUH?

andsoitgoes 01-12-2007 09:31 PM

oh lawdy. I saw this over on another forum. 2.2g... "for either fresh or salt!"

<bangs head into wall>

At least they make an itsy comment on the bottom that "smaller fish are recommended" - uh, then why do you have 9 goldfish (GOLDFISH) in your display tank? Oh, sorry - I counted again. 10.

Hopefully they'll next be selling "cougars in a tub" - I'm up for that one! :)

Some mushrooms and other low light Corals, PC lighting, and a cool Shrimp or two, and that Throne would be an awesome Nano. Sitting on it backwards might be a bit of a challenge though.

Scats.

I assume urinating in the aquarium is probably not recommended.

recommended? Heck, it's ENCOURAGED! Why have a toilet fishtank if you can't pee in it?

Can you imagine, they make fish tanks in shoes, you can't walk on them? Bah, I say. For 300 bucks, I pee in my tanks too. I drink RO water, doesn't that count for anything?

If you urinate in the holding water tank of the toilet at home, then who's going to fault you for doing it in this toilet/tank?

*mental note to self*
Don't ever offer to help Kari fix leaking toilet tank stopper.

:)

On one level, a fish tank over a toilet bowl is rather disgusting. I mean, it only reinforces the idea that if you don't know what you're doing and your fish die, then just flush 'em

On another level, who'd ever think of a silly idea like that

andsoitgoes 01-13-2007 03:12 AM

At this time of year, the chance of a fish getting an APPROPRIATE burial is halfway between slim and none. I love my fish, I do - but they're going straight down the porcelain highway.

Summer, on the other hand, they'd likely get a nice, back yard burial that some rodent somewhere would promptly dig up ;)

Beverly - you ask who would think of a silly idea like this? This from the world that invents the machine to dehydrate everything? ;)

Oh how I wish I could get my wife to go for that.
She showed me the picture as she was saying NO

Sick.

Fishkeeping should be left within certain parameters. Putting them in a "toilet aquarium" barely qualifies in terms of the aquatic organism's interest.

christyf5 01-13-2007 08:38 PM

That certainly would make water changes a breeze. Whoosh!

Delphinus 01-13-2007 08:51 PM

I dunno, I wouldn't do it, but to me it's no worse than say an old television or Mac computer converted into an aquarium.

I think the most unusual item-converted-into-an-aquarium that I ever saw was a car in the lobby of the London Aquarium. I think it was an actual car at one point; cleaned up, sealed up and so on and then fish put into it. I think there were only goldfish in it but still ... some people need to feel creative I guess.

Hahaha.... I just seen on City TV (Channel 8: Calgary) they are going to be showing these tanks on the morning show tomorrow (toilet tank) ... like, why not show a nice big reef tank setup by someone in Calgary.... I guess toilet tanks are much more interesting... wow.. lame!
