butters88 12-28-2006 02:59 PM

I'm in for some Mag and Ca too
Thanks

Jason McK 12-28-2006 03:16 PM

OK CA is $3.75 per lbs. and mag is $2.00 per lbs. We will split the shipping costs . If I am to order this I'm going to insist that all money is in my hand before I order.

So I'm in for 30lbs of Mag
Scott's in for 10 Mag 5 CA
Chad ?
Butters ?

butters88 12-28-2006 03:26 PM

I'm in for 20 lbs of Mag and 5 lbs of Ca
Cheers

Chad 12-28-2006 04:49 PM

I'm in for:

Mag: 20lbs
Cal: 5lbs

littlesilvermax 12-28-2006 04:59 PM

I want to help you guys out.

Get enough poundage and I will ship via a different means and I think I can get shipping costs down a lot.

I would say 100lbs or more should be enough.

Once you guys have a rough idea on the total I will research for you.

Jason McK 12-28-2006 05:06 PM

Very cool

So we are at 95lbs now. I'll take 5lbs more of Mag to get us over the 100lbs.
Lets hold off on the total number until Tuesday to ensure everyone who is interested gets in

J

littlesilvermax 12-28-2006 05:55 PM

OK, how about Wednesday?

I will total things up on Thursday, and get prices all figured out then.

PS: you will likely have to divide the shipping up in a per lb basis. So when I figure out the cost per lb (taxes in) I will let you know.

Will everyone be paying me seperately, or just through one source?

Bonus: Get 175 lbs of stuff and I will give you 6% off.

Denis 12-28-2006 07:25 PM

Hi Jason, Ben,

I'm very interested in this "alternate shipping" as this might make it a very atractive for me.
If the shipping drops to less than a $0.50 a pound I might take full bag of MgCl (50lb.).

I think for ease to you we will try to make one payment.

skylord 12-28-2006 08:27 PM

I increased the amounts I will take. I edited my first post to save a little confusion I hope.

I know .70 per lb is do-able.

Somebody send me the address it will get shipped to and I will see if .50 is do-able.

littlesilvermax 12-28-2006 10:39 PM

OK, I searched and I searched.

DHL, UPS, Fedex, Post-office, Grey-Hound, all around the same.

I tried Reimer express, but they won't do it from me unles I have a business.

I am going skiing in Mar or Feb so if you can wait that long I can take it with me then send it from Fernie BC.

The costs then are .61 per lb

If somebody has a business that can arrange a pick-up from me then maybe we can do something sooner.

To offset I can offer 10% discount (sorry for misleading anybody). If I offer more of a discount then that my net profit is nothing.

littlesilvermax 12-28-2006 10:40 PM

FWIW the costs on a large order from me right now (from Winnipeg) is .97 cents per lb.

Jason McK 12-28-2006 11:17 PM

OK Everyone.

CA is $3.75 per lbs.
MG is $2.00 per lbs.

Less 10% for this group
then there will be a $1.00 shipping charge Per pound.

I would like everyone to reconfirm there order now that things are a little more set.

Jason 30lbs MG Total =$84.00

Chad 12-28-2006 11:49 PM

Ok, so according to the above,

Chad 20lbs MG + 5lbs CA = $77.88

Caleb 20lbs MG + 5lbs CA + 10lbs Kalk ($2.50/lb w/ 10% off) = $110.38

vanreefer 12-29-2006 09:01 AM

Cpr

Ben, did you try inquiring with CP railway cargo (i believe it still exists....)? if you are looking at 150-200 lbs range their rates might be more reasonable. If the shipping rate gets lower, I'm in for sure but at this point, I still got lots from last shipment.

littlesilvermax 12-31-2006 03:43 PM

Do you have a website for them?

I will try.

Chin_Lee 12-31-2006 05:13 PM

www.cpr.ca

Ben
its www.cpr.ca
it looks like they ship rail car's of material and it doesn't look like they ship smaller items but i've sent the following question to their quote department and awaiting a reply:
Quote:

Do you ship smaller packaged item in the 200 lb range? (do you have a minimum size/weight?)
IF you do ship smaller items, can you quote a price for a box that is about 24x24x24" at about 200 lbs? it will contain a few bags of residential ice melting compound.
I'll let you know what their response is when received.

littlesilvermax 12-31-2006 05:15 PM

I will await the reply, thanks.

Jason McK 01-02-2007 09:44 PM

OK I think we can start talking how we get out money together. there is several ways but I would like to find the easiest and cheepest way for us all.

1.most online banking will do online money transfers. this would be my Ideal method. it is simple and does not cost me anything
2. Pay Pal. If you were to paypal me I would be forced to add a 3% charge to the cost to cover my expenses
3. bring me cash. this is the hardest for all as I don't live in the most central location

Please let me know what is best for you and we can do it.
I will give my e-mail address through PMs when you post here that you will e-mail money transfer

J

Chin_Lee 01-03-2007 04:31 PM

No response

Ben et al
no responses from CPR so I'm assuming they don't do freight. Sorry for keeping you waiting.

Has the order been placed? If not I may go in on it but I'm leaving town for a week on Saturday and getting out to Ladner right now will be impossible, (broke a tooth, and got a ton of other stuff to do getting ready).

Doug

Jason McK 01-04-2007 12:27 AM

Doug I will have to insist on pre-payment for this order. So if you can e-mail money to me your in.
