ZEOvit System
I understand that you are the supplier of the ZEOvit products within the Lower Mainland. I have been looking for a list of the ZEOvit products with the bottle sizes available and their prices.

I'm going to follow this. It would be nice to see what the initial cost is and the monthly cost after that.

Hi Jason
I understand that the retail price should come from the retail store. I am sure that you could tell us the Suggested Retail Price. You could also let us know what Sku's you are carrying so that we know what to expect from our retail outlet. To this point my retail supplier has virtually no inventory and whatever I have needed it has taken you guys 2 to 3 days to organize. Tom R |
Tom
I am sorry to hear about this.If I am not mistaken you shop @ Hidden Reef ,on mike's defense I know they are going through growing pain, they are carrying a lot more items compared to what they used to so inventory control could be though sometimes ,I will ask mike to carry more items in stock. As for us we have the whole line in stock except ,coral snow & KZ bulbs which are brand new products released last month ,so they can always bring in whatever you need & we are only a phone call away  . You can also talk to Jeff @ J&L ,they are in the process of bringing the wholeline in as well. BTW ,how is the system doing for you so far ? how many weeks in are you?I have used the system for a few years & maybe I could make a few suggestions as what would be the right steps & products to take for you @ this point. Regards Jason |
Hi Jason
I started the ZEOvit system on Nov 11. My system runs at approx 380G and is about 4 years old. I decided to introduce the ZEOvit System on a slower start opting for the 60.0% start. Everything seems to be OK I am dosing on a 200G basis. My current dosing schedule is: Zeobak 8 drops every 3 days ZEOfood 8 drops every 3 days ZEOstart 2ml in the morning and 2ml in the evening every day Potassium Fluoride 6 drops every 3 days Amino Acid 6 drops every 3 days Tom R |
Hi TOM
What is your net water volume ,What kind of corals are you keeping? Also please discontinue ,UV ,Ozone & Phosphate removal media use . As for the start2 ,i think you are dosing a bit high ,It is 1ml per 100 gal of net water volume ,it is good that you are splitting the dose. |
Hi Jason
My systems net water volume is approx 300G. I have a Mixed Reef. With a few soft corals being Colts, Toadstools and Cabbage, a very large Frogspon, Galaxy, Torch and a very large Candy Cane and about 25 SPS ranging from frags to colonies. I also have a very large population Green Star Polup. I quit using UV ,Ozone & Phosphate when I started the ZEOvit System. I will adjust my dosing of the start2 to 1.5 ml x 2 per day. Tom |
Trying to get started from scratch here in Calgary, but seems to be lacking in all the products, including reactors. This is my fear of starting with this system and not having the supplies when in need.
|
The only lacking product IS reactors...
Truth be told, you can get the system started up by putting the media in a large mesh bag in the sump. |
Last I looked/was told there was no zoebak or zeostart not even 2 weeks ago.
|
They's a lot of it at the front counter...
|
A number of the ZEOvit products are best kept in the refrigerator and because they are live bacteria they have a life span of days if not refrigerated and a life span of months if refrigerated.
Once on the system you will develop your unique dosing regiments and will soon have an idea of how long your supplies will last. This is expensive product and I would rather have the freshest product available when I buy rather than something that has been in the LFS for any length of time. My LFS have been able to fill my orders within a week. Tom R |
Aren't the reactors fairly simple in concept, though? Not much more than a large phosban reactor (in design) with something that lets you agitate/stir up the zeolites? Seems like it would be pretty easy to DIY....or just use a phosban reactor and shake it up every day.

Just curious as to anyone who has stopped using the zeovit system and what the results of quitting were? I recall seeing in the reef-fresh thread someone mentioned that they had stopped and had a real nasty mess as a result. Any similar stories with zeovit?

Tom R - have you noticed any growth change using the Zeovit? I think there was improvement in my SPS corals with the Reef-resh. |
I have a dumb question. What exactly is a low nutrient environment? I alternate between adding Reef-Roids, Coral Frenzy, PhytoPlex and ZooPlex every 1-2 days at the recommended dose taking care to prevent my nitrates from rising. I also add Kent Coral-Vite and Marine Essential Elements twice a week. Is adding all this considered a high nutrient environment? Should I stop all this if I start Zeovit?

the 4 basic elements of Zeovit (ZeoLith, ZeoBac, ZeoFood7, and ZeoStart2) are all used to redoes Nitrate and phosphate form the system while also providing a food source for your corals. Zeovit continues past the basic 4 to enhance your corals via things like amino Acids and other trace elements. I do not believe it is the intent of the Zeo People to have all users using every product. but there seems to be a logical progression to the products you will try and the ones you will find you want to keep using Right now besides the basic 4 I use: Amino Acid, Coral Vitalizer, and K- Balance. I have used Spur2 but find the results a little shocking. J |

What are you using for your Zeovit reactor? Are you using the GroTech reactor? I understand you can get in sump and external reactors. Are you using a 2.5 litre or 5 litre reactor? Thanks |
