Tunze Nano's
Saw some Tunze Nano's at Elite yesterday if anyone's been looking.
|
How much for one? Like $500?
|
Yikes, I hope not! You can get the Tunze Nano 6055 (up to 1189gph) online for half that!
Or maybe I'm talking about something different? |
Heh, I'm curious about the pricing myself.
|
All he said was they started at $74. I don't know how many different models they have.
|
Heh, well if anyone finds out, I'd love to know. I'm not really too comfortable walking in there myself, HA!
|
Put on a disguise Albert....wear one of those Nemo hats...trust me no one will remember anything but the hat :)
|
I have seen them and they are SMALL yet efficient! My LFS have one in a small 60g cube and its quite nice!
|
I got one, the smallest version 6025 was 79 bucks.
|
for a 200 gallon tank?
|
Nope its on a 28" cube tank.

Saw one at Elite the other day. Cool little units for about 80 bucks. Pumps out around 2400L/H or 630 gph. Pound for pound are these economical versus Sieos? They are much smaller though, I'll give them that much.
|
Personally I am waiting for the 6055 model.
Specs for the three models. Prices from J&L website 6025 - 660 gph - $ 72.61 + gst - non-controllable 6045 - 1189gph - $113.46 + gst - non-controllable 6055 - 264 to 1453gph - $238.27 + gst - controllable. Tunze multicontroller $283.34. Link to Tunze info page on the nano streams. http://www.tunze.com/fileadmin/downl...interzooen.pdf |
So has anyone seen any of these around town, and if so, for how much? (PM me pricing if need be.) I'd like to try one in my tank.

I bought the 6025 at Elite on Friday. I know they just got a shipment of them in (all models, I believe) late last week. It came to $80 and some change, with tax.
And it rocks. |
Sweeet.. I'm going to Elite then!
Can you comment on the pump? What does it have over Seio's ? Smaller + more flow + magnet, etc. ?? I'd really like to try one. |
I don't know how it compares to the Seio 620, because I've only ever used the Seio M1500. The flow from the 1500 is quite a bit more than the Nanonstream 6025, but it's also quite a bit bigger.
The magnet is excellent. Small and inconspicuous, strong and foolproof, it seems. In my opinion, one of the best selling features of the nanostreams is the ability to easily change the direction of flow, both because the spherical shape of the pump allows for a "3D" setting of the direction of flow, and because the magnet allows for easy re-placement. And all of this at an energy consumption of 8 watts :-) |
8 watts makes a big difference.
When you're running a tank 24/7, the electrical bill kind of builds up, doesn't it? I'm going to try one out when I have the money :D. |
Anyone know where to get one of these in Edmonton?
