I need a Job.....

Just thought i'd put it out there....

TRIX 11-23-2006 03:23 PM

What are your skills. What are you intrested in.

SJSobczyk 11-23-2006 03:55 PM

Well you do live in Calgary so i am suprised they arent knocking down your door. In all seriousness the job market is still wide open, its a workers world nowadays! All you have to do is walk down one block in a major industrial park or downtown and i am sure someone would hire you on the spot.

Good Luck

Steve

OCDP 11-23-2006 05:06 PM

Yeah, what kind of work are you looking for exactly?

muck 11-23-2006 05:10 PM

Every Wendy's and Tim Hortens I know are hiring.

Tarolisol 11-23-2006 05:12 PM

Im looking for a job where i dont have to lift heavy things, haha, I am in my last semester of a psychology degree. I have spent my last few years working with mentally unhealthy people and need a change. Looking for something a little less stressful.

Der_Iron_Chef 11-23-2006 05:23 PM

My group home is hiring. Oh wait...you DIDN'T want to work with mentally unstable people. Sorry....

If I was young and single, you can guarantee I would be up on the rigs in Northern Alberta. My step brother-in-law came from Winnipeg, took a one week course and was making $70K a year just cleaning up on the rigs. There is alot of money to be made if you have half a brain.

Midknight 11-23-2006 05:48 PM

Hey, I only have half a brain, or some I have been told, Can I work there?

Pan 11-23-2006 05:49 PM

I've never met a rig worker with even a quarter of a brain :)

MoeReefer 11-23-2006 06:50 PM

i thought we all only use half our brains anyway?

RicePaddy 11-23-2006 07:17 PM

What a literal bunch of fish people!!!

Tarolisol 11-23-2006 08:32 PM

Im not a manual labour kinda guy, so rig work isnt for me. I have a friend who works a rig down in brooks it doesnt sound like to much fun. Plus my Girlfriend wouldnt be to happy.

jobs

pick a spot on Macleod trail, twirl around a bunch of times with your eyes closed. Throw a rock in any direction. Apply at the business in which the rock first makes contact with, and you wil get that job.

There are a whack of jobs out there!

Richy44 11-23-2006 09:16 PM

Well I don't have a psychology degree but you should be able to figure this one out...

Calgary + Looking for Job + Have lots of excuses + demanding =

Oh, when applying for a job you should at least use the spell checker.......just a hint.....

RicePaddy 11-23-2006 09:25 PM

You must have an idea of which firm or company you would want to work for when you graduate. My suggestion would be to apply for a job at that company doing anything. This will give you an "in" and help you find out if it is really a place you would want to work.

Will

P.S. Back in my day, you did anything that became available as it was the only thing available. ie: Would you care to upsize your meal for an extra 15 cents.

Sorry to say, but you'll be dealing with mentally unhealthy people regardless of where you work....moreso in service industry

Best advice yet.

Basically, think what job you would LOVE to do, then go apply. You just might get it.
