group live order?
 

Is anyone doing a live order from jl or anywhere else anytime soon?

I may be interested, depending on what is available when we order.

wow most persons Ive seen in a long time for a group order.
My suggestion would be everyone get in touch with supplyier see if the have or will have what you looking for and then set a date for delivery that works for everyone.( just my 2 cents ) because these orders do sometimes have a problem getting "all" on the same track.

if i could find a tank i would buy some liverock, some base as well...unless i find a setup system i can buy from someone.

When I call to place my order, what should I call this "Group live order Edmonton"?

I'm out, the stuff I need isn't available.

I will be phoning tommorow(mon.) to see if they have what i'm after.

I phoned j&L and they might have what i need later this week.

I am in for a few fish.. now we just have to pick someone to head the order. Maybe someone who has done it before?? (sorry I have never done a group order)

As I know you all are aware of the goal of a group order is to share shipping costs and take advantange of the lower prices. In the past this is how I have seen group orders work well:

1) I think all who are interested ph J&L or Ocean Aquatic and see what the they have available that you want.
2) Everyone gets together at this forum and picks a date for delivery etc.
3) Everyone advises whoever is "heading it" up that they ordered and give then your name and a number you can be reached at in case of delivery delays and watch post here.
4) Everyone who orders is responsible to phone the supplier, order and pay for your order (say it's for the edmonton order under the name ??.) pickup is at the airport when it arrives (westjet cargo) (times and days vary)
depending if shipper can get the live order on that flight.(needs heat)
5)All meet at pickup point and order is separated to each -it is all bagged and labeled with your invoice.
6) That's it! Go home and enjoy

The tough part is getting a date that will work for all involved and ensuring what you want is in stock the live orders I have seen in the past are packed really well and in good shape from my experience.

This is my 2 cents unfortunatly I am "not able" to head it this time but would order some small items and meet whereever for pick up.

I'll keep an eye on the postings to see if its a go or not.

I cannot host this order because of the hours I work but would love some fish. I just did a dry good order and J&L wanted me to e-mail them a list with everyones name and what they want (stock confirmed by you in advance). Then after I send the e-mail you just call and give shipping info. Now if we are having trouble finding a host why don't we offer to pay for the hosts shipping as an incentive.

Is this order still going to happen? Just wondering. I am in for a couple of fish. Thanks

Ya J&L just e-mailed me back and they have what I want so we are gonna try for this Saturday so this is what I need from everyone. Call J&L to make sure they have what you want then pm me your full name and contact phone #. I will need this info by tommorow evening at the latest. After I recieve this I will e-mail J&L with all your lists once this is done I will post and then you can call J&L and give them billing info.

I would have offered its just that I have never done this and didnt want to mess something up.

I'm currently waiting on a return phone call from J&L. I'll keep everyone posted on whats happening.

Right now there is no orders set to go out as an Edmonton group order. Nothing it set up for arrival tomorrow, Saturday.

So here is what I need to know.
1) Has anyone already placed orders under their own names?
2) How many peope are FOR SURE placing an order?
3) I am willing to head up the order for arrival next Saturday, provided that it is possible with JL.

So what do you people want to do?

Hey I am not 100% but will know more near the middle of the week . My live rock from j and L is taking longer to cure than I thought. Levels are through the roof right now. Will keep you updated.
