Now For Something Completely Different

I have been wearing a wrist watch for years and years and years. Yes, it's true. I am old

Anyway, over a week ago, the Timex watch I've been wearing for the last three years stopped working. Don't know if it just needs a new battery, or if it's gone belly up. But I'm so used to wearing a watch that I've been wearing this broken thing every day since it stopped working. And the funny thing is, in all those days, I keep looking at my wrist to see what time it is   And it's always the same freaking time, which is even funnier, because I sort of expect to be able to tell what time it is whenever I look at this stupid, broken watch!!!!!!! Must be senility setting in

So, let's make this broken watch make us all laugh. I'm throwing this wide open for any and all to guess at what time my watch stopped. If you guess whether it was AM or PM, I would applaud you even more!

Is there a prize for guessing the right, or nearest to the right, time my watch stopped? Hmmm. Don't know how I could get a reef related prize to someone in, say, Vancouver or Regina. But who cares about prizes, right?

Let the guessing begin

G1GY 03-12-2006 10:20 PM

It stopped at 1:15 AM. Am I right?

The prize should be a broken watch.

Same thing happened to my wife a while back. She went insane untill I went and got her a new super thin swatch. (Same as the dead one.)

I write love poetry to G1GY and eat vaseline.

If its a timex,it must be 10 to 2.Wasn't that what the time was on all those old commercials?

J.Lloy 03-13-2006 01:09 AM

i'll say 9:42 am or pm i don't know

Beverly 03-13-2006 01:21 AM

I don't know if I should give hints, or say who is closest, or what.

Okay. I've thought about it.

I think folks can have multiple guesses until we get really really close, because I'm going to say that Scott is closest so far, but is still a long way away.

Also, this watch has a second hand. It is very close to the minute hand, if that is of any assistance to all of you great guessers  Heck, that's no help at all

Keep 'em comin' !!!! I hope you're laughing as much as I am. Great posts!

I'll say 5:58 .....well :)

EmilyB 03-13-2006 02:43 AM

I've got to guess 11:11 just because out of the times I look at the clock, 90% of the time that is the time. Then I'm feeling guilty thinking I should get out of bed before noon......

robzilla 03-13-2006 02:47 AM

11.26

That is horrible. I thought that happened only to me.

Beverly 03-13-2006 03:03 AM

boB,

You're the closest so far, but I can't tell you which post is the close one

Okay let's try 8:45 PM, and assume that is the one.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Richard_Dicosimo 03-13-2006 05:16 AM

1:23pm

Funky_Fish14 03-13-2006 05:50 AM

Lol I was going to say 8:45, but... now, I'll guess 8:53:26PM.

Should we be guessing down to the second? Haha.

Chris

fortheloveofcrabs 03-13-2006 06:36 AM

I think Funky is on the right track. Here's what we know...

It's NOT:
1:15 AM
7:00 AM
3:43 PM
7:03 AM
3:48 PM
5:51 PM (Scott)
1:00 PM
1:01 PM
11:59 PM
1:02 PM
8:20 PM
9:12 PM
10:37 PM
10:38 PM

And it's not:
4:20
5:50
9:42
11:11
11:26
1:50
AM or PM for those is out.

Now, Bev said that Scott was *close* in the first few pages, so, it will be *close* to 5:51 PM... Then later she said that Bob was actually close with his posts:

8:20 PM
9:12 PM
10:37 PM

Now, here's an interesting thing about this whole kit and kaboodle... Her watch STOPPED at a specific time and it has a second hand, hence it is an analog watch, not digital, and Timex (to my knowledge) does not make a 24 hr analog watch, AM and PM are indistinguishable... So that narrows down our guessing range from 24 hours to 12.

So......

We know her watch stopped between 5:51 *PM* and 11:59 *PM*. We can take it one step more right now because we know that Bev did NOT say that G1GI was close with 10:38, so Bob was closer with 10:37, so it is now between 5:51 and 10:37.

Finally, Bev said that Scott was sorta close with 5:51, but not really, but Bob was closer with his 3 posts. His posts span about 2 hours, and since OCDP is about 2 hrs away from Bob's, we can omit his all together... So now we are between 8:20 and 10:37... Infact because Bev DIDN'T say that G1GI was close witha guess of 10:38, I would chop off 10:37 and it's around 8:20 - 9:12...

J.L guessed 9:42 (no AM or PM) and Bev didn't say he was close so I would say it is with in twenty minutes of 8:20...

Just a guess, but am I right?

Sorry so long winded, but when I see numbers, I just can't help myself...

Pan 03-13-2006 06:44 AM

12 am or i dunno 12:01

boB is still closest, but has gone a bit later than the actual time, and he has the PM correct

Reefhawk1 03-13-2006 03:26 PM

7:55

Bob I 03-13-2006 03:56 PM

What a lovely way to pad posts, and waste bandwidth. I am now thinking 8:33 PM.
