FS: Brain coral (Calgary)

I have to sell my brain! It's sitting in the back where it can't even be seen, therefore... it should go into someone elses' display where it can be viewed.

Sorry I have no photos.. the brain is a hot pink/neon reddish with a pastelle green colour,, very nice. I can't describe it's actual colours very well...

Starting it off at 40$ I will consider offers as well.

Local pick-up only please. Shoot me a PM if interested !

Thanks guys

Do you know what type of brain it is? Also what size is it?

OCDP 03-04-2006 12:27 AM

Oops! My bad.. it's an Open Brain coral... I don't know the exact species?

It's only has one head...

(the asking price is what I paid for the coral..)

Does it look like this ( but more colorfull )Trachyphyllia geoffroyi

Move curser over small pics near top to change the close up.

Or more similar to this: Lobophyllia robusta

I already have Trachyphyllia, but might be interested in a Lobophyllia.

I would say it looks more like Lobophyllia robusta. But I am no brain expert by any means.. this is my first.

The Trachy. sp. of open brain is smooth while Lobophyllia are "bumpy" in appearance.

Found a very old pic...(after a coral fell on it) it has since shaped up nicely and coloured up very well. Plus it was in shade at the time, so it doesn't show it's full colours..

That's a Trachyphyllia. Lobophyllia has little bumps all over it & multiple mouths usually.

Thanks Anthony..

That picture is pretty misleading.. it doesn't have that weird/bad looking shape to it anymore, it's all good. My mille colony fell on it while doing a WC a couple months ago.

Still available. I am located in the NE of Calgary to all those curious.

bump......

TheReefGeek 03-05-2006 06:43 PM

I have never kept a brain, do you have to target feed them?

Quagmire 03-05-2006 06:58 PM

Yes Trachys should be target fed,or at least the pumps should be off when feeding the tank. They can be slow eaters so you dont want the food blown away before they get a good hold on it.Mine gets feed in the morning before the lights come on.Nocturnal eaters, but I think they can be trained to eat during the day.

Bump.. still have this :(

I'd really like to get it out of the tank now... just not doing anything for me like it used to.

Someone must want a brain?
