Clean up crew order

I am planning to make an order from J&L but shipping would be nice to split amongst say 4 or 5 others:wink:

Apparently if the order is over $200 we would be able to forgo the "Box Charges"

I am personally looking at 60-80 bucks worth of stuff.

Post interest here.

If you think another place would be better make a suggestion and I will look into it.

midgetwaiter 02-22-2006 06:27 PM

I need a few small plumbing bits for my new tank so if you guys order we could do it all together.

Maybe check OA as well, there are a few things I need from there too :)

SJSobczyk 02-22-2006 06:48 PM

I would be in for a couple items as well. Depends on if it is dry or live but i could do for both!

Steve

RobbAdams 02-22-2006 07:03 PM

personally I am looking at a live order.

J&L seems to have better pricing on inverts.

Robb

midgetwaiter 02-22-2006 07:12 PM

I just need small pumbing bits, you could fit all of them into a space smaller than a shoebox so it can go with a live order no prob. I'd be spending $75 minimum, maybe as much as $130.

SJSobczyk 02-22-2006 07:16 PM

For a live order i would be looking at $30-$50.......roughly! I might add some things on if needed.

Really need another seio powerhead though.

Delphinus 02-22-2006 07:21 PM

I could probably be persuaded on a few things. What timeframe are we looking for here?

RobbAdams 02-22-2006 08:32 PM

I gues that depends on the group consensus:mrgreen: I am hoping in the next week or two?

Sure wish local Fish stores would keep large stocks of cleanup crews

Robb

midgetwaiter 02-22-2006 08:57 PM

I'd like to have everything by the end of next week.

digital-audiophile 02-22-2006 09:09 PM

I wouldn't mind joing for some cleanup. I'll be damnded if I can find a couple small pepermints in this city. Big Al's was supposed to get some in two different shipments in the past month and have not got any in :(

RobbAdams 02-22-2006 10:15 PM

if there is enough interest, I could order a really large reef package such as:

150 Blue leg hermits $1.30-each
30 Red Scarlet Hermits $3.30-each
50 Astrea $1.70-each
50 cerith $1.70-each
50 Margaritas $1.70-each

Assuming $55 for delivery if we pay the above rates per animal, I would break even.

I would need the money on the day we order, as my wife will kill me if I don't have the money to apply against the credit card purchase. If this is of interest let me know. we should be able to tack on some peppermints, and cleaner shrimp for no extra cost, as $55.00 shipping would be for 20 bags, and we are currently at seven.

Edit: GST would have to be added on I guess:redface:

Hey Rob, if you get that order put me down for

10 BL Hermits
5 Cerith
5 Astrea
5 Margarita

Thats good for $38.50 (I'll give you 40 bucks)

I'm also looking for 2 cleaner shrimp, do you think they'll swap out various other cleaners and adjust the price for that? Also, I'll PM my buddy to see if he wants to get in on some of it.

RobbAdams 02-22-2006 10:46 PM

Basically if we call sell that entire clean up crew at the prices suggested the shipping for up to 20 bags would be covered. this clean up order would account for 7 or 8 bags, so we would have 12 or 13 bags to work with. I am hoping to be able to order a cleanershrimp for myself, and perhaps a flame angel since they are half the price of local shops. I wonder how many shrimp would be able to fit in a bag?

I am interested in:
10 BL Hermits
5 red hermits
10 cerith Snails

Robb

adidas 02-22-2006 11:10 PM

I'll be in for a clean up crew and/or live rock? i'm going to spend $100 minimum!

digital-audiophile 02-22-2006 11:30 PM

Robb, I have no problem paying you upfront :)

Let me know what interest you get because I would definatley be in for two peppermints and 1 skunk cleaner, a couple nass snails and a couple bumblebee snails.

:D

- I'll look through their coral slection as well, there might be a piece or two I could get.

muck 02-23-2006 12:22 AM

Why not support our sponsers.
Id check with Ocean Aquatics as I bet their prices would be better than that on a large group order.

SJSobczyk 02-23-2006 01:35 PM

I would be going for:

20 BL Hermits
5 of each snail

Money up front is not a problem at all. I am also interested to see what OA will give as a deal.

Steve

adidas 02-23-2006 06:29 PM

I know I want about a minimum of 50 BL crabs, 15 cerith snails and a cleaner shrimp.

adidas 02-23-2006 06:32 PM

maybe we should get an order total and see what kind of deal Ocean aquatics would give us?

OCDP 02-23-2006 07:18 PM

Hey, I could be in on this order too. I only need a few things, so if that won't work out.. then no worries.

Interested in:

3 Blue leg hermits
5 Astrea
3 cerith
2 Margaritas

Let me know if this could work. Thanks

(PS: Astrea's are the one's that will be more prone to eat small bits of hair algae, correct?)

RobbAdams 02-23-2006 09:20 PM

I have e-mailed a link to this thread to Wendell, so perhaps we will hear back on the board soon.

Robb

BMW Rider 02-23-2006 11:01 PM

If this isn't too out of control yet, let me help it along.

I too am interested in a top-up of my cleaner crew. I'd like some astrea snails, turbo snails and margarita snails, say ten each. Also, about ten of the red scarlet hermit crabs.

scuglass 02-24-2006 03:03 AM

im also intrested prolly 20 bl hermits and some snails. just wondering where we are going to order from first.

RobbAdams 02-24-2006 05:14 AM

so far we are looking at :
113 blue hermits
30 Astrea Snails
22 Margarita Snails
43 Cerith Snails
15 Red Scarlet Hermits
4 peppermint shrimp
2 cleaner shrimp
2 nassaruis snails and 2 bumblebee snails

We are getting close to completing a full #7 critter pack at J&L.

37 hermits, 20 astrea, 28 marg, and 7 cerith to go. After that we should have at least 10 bags more we can ship at the mentioned rate of 55$ (can more than on shrimp go in a bag):silly:

SJSobczyk 02-24-2006 01:31 PM

I would just go ahead and order it. I am sure people will grab some extras.........like me!

Steve

digital-audiophile 02-24-2006 01:35 PM

Robb, can you switch out the two bumblebees for me (I was informed that they can be predatory and a pain in the butt)

Can you revise me to

4 astrea
4 Nass
2 peppermints
1 skunk cleaner

:D Thanks!

BMW Rider 02-24-2006 02:54 PM

If you order the package and have extras, I'd be willing to take a few more than what I initialy indicated.

RobbAdams 02-24-2006 03:59 PM

I have a spreadsheet of what each person has asked for and the totals for each person, but i cannot figure out how to get it to attach into the board.

Perhaps I could e-mail it to one of you people that is more computper savvy than I so it could be posted?

Robb

Delphinus 02-24-2006 04:01 PM

I don't know if you can attach a non-picture file. If you have a webpage you can upload it to there and link to it though.

If you don't have your own webpage, email it to me and I'll link to it on mine.

RobbAdams 02-24-2006 04:46 PM

email sent tony

adidas 02-24-2006 06:47 PM

hey can I add 3 red scarlets, 4 astreas and 4 margaritas? thanks :)

digital-audiophile 02-24-2006 08:41 PM

Sweet spreadsheet. have we got a response from Oceans on what they can do for us?

RobbAdams 02-24-2006 08:54 PM

OK to answer some of the pm's etc, I live in SW Calgary in Millrise (close to Tony if you know where that is)

I have not heard back from Wendell yet on pricing, but I will not be ordering until after the weekend anyway.

I am aiming at having the order arrive in calgary 1 week from today.

Robb

digital-audiophile 02-24-2006 09:17 PM

Sweet, I'm in Shawnessy so it's nice to know you are close :)

I'm the same as ed, if there are extra snails ordered to fill out the order I could take a few extra as well to help out.

RobbAdams 02-24-2006 09:32 PM

I just spoke with the guy from J&L, and apparently the stuff that Tony wanted is not going to be in until about March 10th?

However, they will be getting Abalone, and sea Hares at that time:mrgreen:

So should we wait an extra week? I know there has been some people looking for seahares on the calgary board in the last week or two.

Robb

BMW Rider 02-24-2006 09:44 PM

I can wait.

My tank has gone this long with out a proper reef crew, I guess it can wait an extra week.

RobbAdams 02-24-2006 09:56 PM

well, I think we will be a bit short on orders to cover the 55$ shipping for 20 bags, however we have enough for 10 bags, and that will do assuming that 2 cleaner shrimp can go into one bag. If we would like to order extra things like fish, or perhaps frags we would need to cover another $10 for shipping so I guess a $1 per bag fee would be in order.

I am personally considering a flame angel for my self:mrgreen: they are almost half of the LFS price.:shocked!:

Robb

digital-audiophile 02-24-2006 09:57 PM

An extra week is fine for me too.

muck 02-24-2006 09:59 PM

Pretty sure they will ship the shrimps in seperate bags.
