Great disappointment

Had a huge lose in my 150 - lost most of my SPS's, some LPS's and my lovely RBTA. Oddly enough never lost any fish.(clowns were close, but thanks for having another tank handy) Been doing this hobby for over 12 yrs now, but this is testing my will. I haven't had an animal loss for quite sometime. The dollar amount is heavy, but my moral is very low. Try to vent this to people not in the the hobby and not much understanding.(this is understandable though). My 33g FOWLR and 15g Seahorse tanks are doing well and they are what is keeping my head in the game for now.
thanks for listening,

Sorry to hear that! Hang in there!

What a devastating loss  Any idea what caused it?

Ruth 02-19-2006 04:47 PM

Darn Ande what happened? Or do you know? I know that I recently lost a bunch of my SPS due to my own stupidity of not monitoring heat and it is pretty demoralizing. Sorry for your loss.

allincuddy 02-19-2006 05:09 PM

Sorry to hear about your loss. If there is anything I can do, let me know.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 02-19-2006 05:23 PM

We feel your pain. Hopefully things will look up soon Ande.

BMW Rider 02-19-2006 05:56 PM

That's a rough break. Hope you can rebuild your stock. If you are looking for frags once you get things back on track, I can probably spare a few to help you get restarted.

kari 02-19-2006 06:10 PM

I'd cut you some frags to help you get started again but I need to deal with my current plague first.

Myanth 02-19-2006 06:15 PM

I feel the pain. I watched my friend's tank crash hard. No one will understand unless they share the passion. Sorry.

Sorry for your loss man, I know what you are going throught having lost all my sps and half my fish a month agoish!!

andestang 02-20-2006 04:27 PM

Thanks so much for all your kind words. As far as what happened I'm not really sure. I got a really high PH reading one day and by the end of the day the tank was full of a brown algae. Took a couple of days to bring the PH back down and a few longer to control the algae, but by then it was to late. And for an up date I lost one of my female seahorses that I've had for a couple of yrs after the start of my post.

fortheloveofcrabs 02-20-2006 05:33 PM

I am really sorry for your loss.
