Reef Keeping Basics

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd drop in and thank Dwight for asking about the book just
released.

Obvioulsy I'd recommend it - but like Ron said - let others be the judge of
it . . . though I'm confident many individuals will like it!

It's a book by hobbyists, for hobbyists.

It's also got some knowledgable individuals that have contributed - you might
be familiar with them:

Richard Durso
Kevin Pockell
Marc Levenson
John Susbilla
Joe Burger

. . . to name just a few

If you are willing to learn more about this wonderful hobby, this is just another
great book to further you along!

Happy Reefing

If I read the ad correctly you don't actually get a book? Can you download it and print it out is that how it works? Thank.

I wasn't aware that Ron Popeil was a reefkeeper.

Clarification

Hi Ron,

You are partly correct!

You can get the 'book'. It's not a paperback book but an electronic book.

It's not a pdf, which can be copied easier (since the book is copyright), but
a more secure version of an electronic book. It can be downloaded to your
computer and is interactive - it's like browsing the internet when you open
it.

Once you purchase it - you are directed to a download page and an email
is automatically generated with a unique username and password. No one
person has the same info. The username and password is used to register
the book.

You do have the option of printing as well - however, it's got over 700+ pages
as well as over 300 images . . . printing it would be - well - you know - alot!

Hope this helps!

Happy Reefing

The Book

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I have purchased the book. As knowledge is a good thing, especially in this hobby.
New & exciting & the price is worth it's weight in coral .

Thanks for the comments and the support! I was just going to email you and ask if
you had any problems downloading or anything else . . .

I would have to agree with you on the knowledge being a good thing in this hobby. IMHO,
there are a couple of things important in this hobby. You have to do the proper research,
the proper planning, be able to listen to good advice (so that you don't make the same
mistakes WE have made in the past) and be able to practice and maintain patience!

This thread has really developed into an informative discussion. Cheers to all!

Happy Reefing
