Calgary frag swap site
 

This post might get me banned or something but what would everyone think of a website setup just for swapping frags in Calgary?

A site where people could post pics of what they have to trade and what they are looking for. Very similar to the livestock section here but used mainly by Calgary people for local pickup. Comments?

I think it would be better to post on here.You can add pics here already,and it gives ppl from different towns to chance to pick something up that may be hard to find where they live.

And how would this be better then the Canreef Calgary Reefing Club part of the board? Crazy Calgarians...:neutral:

A shorter contact list would not be a benefit.

Ok, you may not like what I have to say.

A frag database sounds like a neat idea but I don't think it will fly. First of all, if you have frags to sell, you can list them here. If you have frags to sell, you can already list them here. But the reality is for every one person wanting a frag, there are probably ten others wanting that same frag. So the frag database is going to end up with mostly things like "I want frags" and then "me too!" and "hey, me too!" and "so do I!".

We have frag swaps already. How many of you made it to the frag swap we had in January?

If there is enough supply and demand, there will be other frag swaps.

My suggestion is a little patience.

not specific to calgary...too bad hardly any canadians use it...

Is this your site? Great job. I can tell ya right now I'll be using it. Too bad to as I just sold off a few frags. I think I have a couple more I am looking to get rid of as well.

Yes, it is my site. I put in some time on the weekend and got it running. It is pretty basic but I think if we get a bunch of us in Calgary using it - might be pretty handy.

I agree. I like it... so if you're the seller for most items... you have an e-mail from me. Thanks for taking time to set this website up.. it looks promising. Hopefully we can get others to use it.

A pro to this site also is that there will be pictures so you can see what you are buying/trading. You don't always get that in the buy/sell forum here.

Well right now it is only setup with Calgary - that was the original idea. I could add more cities - or you could post in the Calgary area and just list your location in the description?

Maybe you should discuss this on YOUR site since obviously Canreef isn't good enough to sell frags on :razz:

Well, to be honest, I just find it rude to discuss the creation of a new site because the one you're currently chatting ON isn't good enough (and if that were the case, why not make a suggestion or commentary? Other people feel free to make comments and suggestions..)

Also I note that nobody touched my earlier comments. So I have just this to say: If trading frags is so important, why not show up at the frag meets? There were folks who came down from Edmonton, you can't tell me that it's more inconvenient for you to get to if they can come down from another city?
