I have a Beckett skimmer. PM me if you are interested. You'll need a pump to drive it though.

Ruth 01-31-2006 04:21 AM

What size tank are you looking to skim? I also have a beckett skimmer that I would sell - it's this one.

No pump included
I may also be selling my aqua C remora pro skimmer in a month or so.

looks like we're going skimmer shoppin hey goerge

TheReefGeek 01-31-2006 04:11 PM

Skimmer type?

What kind of skimmer are you looking for? Hang-on, or in-sump? For what size tank?

I have a used Berlin Turbo, pump needs new impeller. I can also get new ASM skimmers.

DON'T get a prizm. :)

a CPR BakPakII or a AquaC Remora would work perfectly for that size tank.

Myanth 01-31-2006 10:01 PM

I would agree with the Aqua C Remora. it's quiet and skims a ton. comes with pump, but I'm not selling mine:biggrin:

I could part with my CPR BakPakII, I used it for 1 year on a 55gallon, it is in perfect shape.

They are $180 + GST = 192 at www.jlaquatics.com plus shipping.

I would sell for $125, any lower and I will just keep it for when I decide to start another tank. (cause you just know it happens!)

What's wrong with prizm skimmers? I've read good things about them.

Read where, I would like to see this. Do some searches on reef central, or the reef lounge.

They are difficult to tune, the pumps crap out, and they just plain dont skim well. I threw mine out, I wasn't going to sell it use to someone else, I would feel bad.

shotzee 02-01-2006 01:39 AM

Really? Where have you heard good things about Prisms? I have never had one myself, but all I have ever heard (after the initial buzz when they came out that they were better than Seaclone's) is that they are pieces of junk that are impossible to adjust and even once adjusted, fall far from preforming very efficiently.

TheReefGeek 02-01-2006 01:44 AM

Shotzee, another Rory? I have heard of others, but never actually met one! I see you are from Edmonton, are you going to the next meet on Feb 25/26?

shotzee 02-01-2006 02:14 AM

I might make it out to the meet. I think I actually called you a couple weeks ago about the RemoraPro skimmer because you had it listed in the bargain finder.

TheReefGeek 02-01-2006 02:21 AM

Ah yes indeed you did, I remember that conversation. The remorapro sold right away.

Tarolisol 02-03-2006 03:01 AM
