Cool crab!

i have crabs 02-22-2006 01:57 PM

well i finally got some pics loaded up so heres my new cube its supposed to be the same as the first cube but starfire glass but i guess when you ask for a 12" cube made from starfire they make it 1/2" bigger than the first cube just so they look stupid sitting beside eachother,i took down my 20g and put the 2 cubes on the 20g stand
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...eb21005_00.jpg

i went to golds and seen the cutest little powder blue tangs and ended up bringing one home to put in the cube for a while and dennis and albert gave me a free gift... ich thanks guys now i can either copper my new starfire cube or hypo the damb thing.

If the ick isnt to bad you could try garlic.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 02-22-2006 04:41 PM

That's a small regal or hippo tang, not powder blue. You know, a "Dory". Beautiful nano cubes btw.

Xtasia 02-22-2006 06:06 PM

Garlic is debatable as a "cure" for ick.

QT, Hypo, Copper, Water Change Method, UV are better methods IMHO.

fatpuffer 02-22-2006 06:57 PM

how long does that clam live for?

Js

Skimmer Juice 02-22-2006 07:09 PM

I buy the same clams. I had one in my mantis shrimp tank for 2 months before he ate it.

i have crabs 02-22-2006 08:13 PM

they usally only live for a few weeks before they die but ive had a few live over 2 monthes, as far as the ich goes garlic is not a cure just a bandaid,i moved the pistol shrimp into my reef tank and started the hypo this morning, the ich isnt bad but it has to be treated sooner or latter so ill just do it now and knock off my BS.

ya i checked its a blue hippo tang, shows what i know about tangs

Funky_Fish14 02-22-2006 10:30 PM

The 'gift' of ich is not from Dennis and Albert, its probably from having the tang in a 7.5g tank! :O

The tanks look good though!

is that red hermit reef safe or will it eat small fish?

i have crabs 02-22-2006 11:35 PM

kuatto 02-22-2006 11:37 PM

NIce looking cubes,Whare did you get the black trim?

i have crabs 02-23-2006 12:30 AM

came with the cubes

digital-audiophile 02-23-2006 01:07 AM

Where do you get those cubes made? One of those would be sweet for my office!

i have crabs 02-23-2006 02:53 AM

go talk to dennis at golds he can get you one made thiey are just 12"x12"x12" tank with trim around the top and a lid, golds sells the light for $40 and i have a aquaclear 50 filter wich is plenty of flow and a 50w heater so probably run you 200-250 for everything you need mabey a little less if you have some rock and sand to steel from another tank.

digital-audiophile 02-23-2006 03:20 AM

Awesome! Thanks for the info on the tank, it is just slick! :D Those lights are awesome eh? the Mrs. uses the FW one a planted 2.5G beta tank she has.
