Gorilla glue
 

Does anyone know if this stuff is safe to use and if it works?

i don't know how safe it is in a tank, but i have used it in woodworking and i've even used it on a pair of shoes. whatever you do, don't get it on your hands. that stuff is cray strong, definitely gorrilla strength. also you have to be careful when you use it b/c it expands as it sets up.

If it has the same bonding agent as crazy glue it should be fine.
Now dont quote me on this but i believe its cyanoacrylate

Kabong is correct. As long as the main active ingredient is Cyanoacrylate, you will be fine.

Gorilla glue is a polyureathane glue. Once it has cured it is non-toxic . It is excellent for woodworking but has to be applied in the manner suggested by the manufacturer. What do you plan on using it for?

Apparently it has a 2 - 3 hour cure time so IMO it wouldn't be any good for mounting frags.
Now if your building a stand then it would be great!!

Well I was wanting to know if it was OK to use for mounting frags but if it takes that long to cure that is out of the question. If it was me using it for woodwork then I would need a lot more that the silly little bottle it comes in - try a 5 gallon pail to put my mess together.
Thanks for your replies - I went with the super glue gel - it just required that I make an additional trip to town to get it (one hour round trip)

I was at a fellow members the other day getting some frags & they showed me what they were using.

Loctite SUPERGLUE. Gel control
I have used it & with the gel works awesome Once I glued straight into the water & done.

I used to use regular gel superglue till i came across the loctite :) it's the thickest gel,no mess,super dispenser,all around cadillac of superglue's.Never using anything else.

I think if you use a tray with water that they can sit in for 1/2 an hour then it would be fine. I am going to play with gorillia glue as I have been wondering about it myself. there are no acids and it is non toxic so I think it would be ok. but I am going to try gluing up some small chunks of rock to see if it will set up under water and how long it takes to be reasonably hard.

I do use the loctite gel and it does work very well - it is just that I was out and had some frags that I needed to glue so wondered about the Gorilla as I had a bottle.
Steve please let us know how it works out with the Gorilla as this might be another option - and I already have a container.

it will be a couple weeks as I am sitting in a hotel in Orillia Ontario right now. I have hit and miss luck with super glue as it realy doesn't like gluing "wet" things I have found unless you use a ton. I think the gorillia glue (or any polyurathane glue) will be better as it uses moisture to cure it and once it skims over it is water proof, non toxic and has no acids (crazy glue has acids and I think this is why the bottom of the corals die, which makes them take longer to encrust). I think this combanation will be better on the corals in theory and as long as you can keep it in a container untill it starts to harden (only has a 20 min working time) it should be good. you don't need to wait for a full cure but only long enuf for it to hold the coral. My second though is about the 20 min working time. I believe if we put some on our rocks about 10 min befor we start sticking the frags in we should only have to wait 5 or 10 min for it to set up, but I will test this by gluing a couple chunks of rubble togeather at different times.

speaking of glue, does anyone know where i can get "caulking" gun size tubes of Cyanoacrylate glue from?

any updates on this stuff? i use the loctite stuff as well but it's getting kinda expensive and the gorilla glue seems like a better deal if it works well. anyone?
