Went back to 14K lighting after the 10K almost bleached my corals.

Thanks everyone.
Nano, I can make frags of the blue zoos if needed, but since the rock is stuck at the bottom it will take a while to do. Pm me if interested. Muck, I need to get more LR before buying clams, I need to make room in the sandbed. Alan, your still alive! I'll be at Greg's, hope to see you. |
Danny your tank is looking really good. Look forward to further updates!
|
wow..looks amazing.
Why did the other bulb almost bleach your corals? I have a 250watt 14k bulb and my corals just can't seem to keep any color... think switching bulbs might help? |
i'd love a frag of those zoos if possible, even just like 2 polyps..would you trade/sell me one?
|
i will pm you later but for now, in the first picture, on the FAR right, are those zoos too?? have any frags??? im very interested in the first ones
|
Lookin' good Danny. Glad to hear you'll be at the meet at my place. That toadstool is pretty groovy. Is that the mother of the frag I got from you last Jan?

Adidas, I thisnk the reason they were starting to bleach is for two reasons. the first being that I upgraded from a 14K 250 watt to a 10K 400 watt system. Because of the spectrum change it equivilated to about a 300 watt jump, bad news. The other thing that I learned from fellow Canreefers is that higher intensity lighting speads up the metatbolic rateof corals. So you must increase your supplimentary dosage, and I couldn't keep up in the end. Since I went back to the 14K spectrum my corals have much more color.
It seems there is a bit of interest in my zoos! I'll try to post closup pics for everyone interested. In the meantime I'll repsond to PM's. Greg, I'd hardly call it a mother colony but ya, thats the one. |
Looks great Danny

Thats strange, but I can believe it. I have a 2 year old yellow fiji leather fragthat I bought from Ocean's that is still only loonie sized as well. On the other hand, a friend of mine has a frag of that same toadstool that is the same size as mine. Oh well.
|
well with a closer look maybe it's the size of a toonie.
|
Danny looks truely awesome
how's the Bi color angel doing with the corals in the tank. thinking of getting one.. |

The Bi-color is awsome. Between it and the blue tang I have no hair algae and tons of entertainment. It doesn't pick at any corals either.
I got another 30 lbes of LF in the tank now. As soon as I arrange everthing a few more times I'll post pics to see what you guys like better. |
you fragged any of those zoos from me yet danny!? PM me!
