Those were a special offer sale, and are no longer available. I got two of them while they had them and I wish I'd picked up at least one more.

Just recieved one of those the other day, nice looking unit. It's not all silver like the image on the site, though...

KrazyKuch 12-14-2005 11:06 PM

You can get them in silver and black

really? i didnt see the option. the one i got is both silver and black, half and half.

Remember to not just worry about price, you should really make sure that the powerbar isn't some cheap piece of plastic.
Make sure it is a grounded powerbar and uses heavy guage wiring. Look for a rating of at least 1800watts as well. It cost me a fair bit but I picked up a contractor grade one from Canadian Tire.

mr_alberta 12-15-2005 04:55 AM

I use the Chauvet ones as well. From what I hear, their quality isn't as great as the American DJ brand ones though. I have 2 and one of them has a switch that doesn't light up. Not that big of a deal though....

Yes it is George.
Each switch has a corresponding AC outlet in the back. Definately handy IMO. ;)

fishface 10-13-2006 11:38 PM

anyone seen any of these around town lately??

Have you guys ever used the Coralife Autoswitch units?

I'm using one right now and I'm pretty impressed with the way it's running. I'm not sure what the durability of the unit is before it starts messing up.

i've had 2 of those go into meltdown...they make me very nervous

Murminator 10-14-2006 01:17 AM

I bought a 4 foot long shop power bar from Costco 12 outlets with tons of room between each plug for timers and big plugs

What happened in this meltdown? Everything plugged into it just stopped working?

fishface 10-14-2006 01:29 AM

the plug outlets just fried and melted...everything that was plugged into them was fine other than having blackened the plugs themselves. nothing some emery cloth couldn't fix :) but kinda scary. thought i would try one again and a few months later, same thing!

Moogled 10-14-2006 01:31 AM

That is pretty ownage.

I'll have to do some research on this. You are making me very nervous, haha.

fishface 10-14-2006 02:30 AM

other thing i had issues with these was that sometimes they would miss switching lights off or on. not that big of a deal unless you're not around for a few days or so...not very reliable unfortunately. i'm speaking of the analog ones, not sure about the digital.

Dale 10-14-2006 04:50 AM

Go

For the DJ/ Chav units - is there room for timers? I also saw a large PB as Murray described at Home Depot. It was in the electrical section that has plastic covers for hiding wires along walls and such. Probably about 6" between plugs @ 39.99

the coralife fixtures have caused house fires on a few occasions.. the threads are on rc if u like.

Johnny Reefer 10-15-2006 02:45 AM

I've got a couple of the Coralife bars. What I like about 'em is the built in timers they have. What I don't like about 'em is the short cord they have.

Oh ya. Then there's that little fire risk thing. Not good.:surprise:

Anyone know of a good quality powerbar with built in timers?

Thanx much,
