I do not understand mumbo jumbo, and would like to excercise my right to communicate in the language of the country if that is Okay with you. I speak, and write in English, so if you want a reply to your posts, and PM's I would ask you do the same. :biggrin:There is no need for shortcuts, as we are not texting on cellphones where such shortcuts are necessary to save costs.

dunl 11-26-2005 11:04 PM

Simple fix is to add it to the censor list.

Oh yeah, there were some at Gold a two weeks ago.....$9.99each.

scuglass 11-27-2005 03:51 AM

que diriez-vous j'emploie notre autre langue nationale que vous savez ce qu'ils disent, quand ŕ Rome faites comme romans, ainsi j'ai juste figuré quand sur l'Internet fais comme internetonians.

heheh j/k bob.

dunl 11-27-2005 04:43 AM

I am with you on this one Bob, I don't like it either. It takes me much longer to read and figure out what the heck they are saying. I guess it shows our age.

Ruth 11-27-2005 12:33 PM

It must be an age thing because I hate it too. It takes me twice as long to read a post with the mumbo jumbo. Of course it beats not being able to read it at all if it is in French or for that matter any other language but English.

I am with you there. French is just mumbo jumbo to me, but I can read Dutch, and some Spanish

dunl 11-27-2005 05:32 PM

Some sites I have been on have simply added those shortcuts to the word filter.

Problem solved. I just can't wait to see a time when this stuff starts appearing on cover letters and resumes.

Ruth 11-27-2005 05:44 PM

Well I have been known to make up my own language (usually curse words to keep a really good rant going) and I and probably only I can understand it.

Joshua Jones 11-28-2005 05:45 AM

more on nothing to do with blennies...

...ahem.

i'm stupid young, and it still takes me twice as long to read messages with random text messaging colloquialisms...

so there..!

Sorry for the ignorance, but add what to the censor list? Do you mean the offending poster?

fatpuffer 12-14-2005 07:48 PM

I think he meant that "words" that are considered mumbo-jumbo.

Bob I 12-14-2005 08:02 PM

I have not been able to find such a censor list on this board, but if there was such a thing I would use it.

dunl 12-14-2005 09:36 PM

The admins have to add them in.....so in short, you need to petition them to do so.

SW_freak 12-15-2005 12:19 AM

If you are still looking for one I was in lethbridge visiting family and that tropical fish imports had one. I also know where one is in medicine hat.
