My Wife's new Balloon Molly tank (yeah I know its fw)
She insisted that I had to set her up her own balloon molly tank so I did  Anything to keep her interested in this addiction.

Beautiful tank.
Just add a tablespoon of salt everytime you walk by. In a month, you will have converted your wife's molly tank to salt. The mollies would do great, but not sure about the plants.... |
wow anthony that looks good.. looks better than a reef tank!!
|
Hexagon...
Anthony - I think you should post the images of your hexagon FW as well
|
That's neat ! How many gallons is the molly tank?
|
wow, I never knew you could put the lucky bamboo in a FW tank! I always thought it would be bad for the tank for some reason
anyways, good looking tank! |
really cool looking tank. i really like the lucky bamboo.

The Balloon Molly tank is a 25g tall. 24" long, 12" wide & 20" tall. The Lucky Bamboo will do great in fw tanks (even slightly brackish like this one) as long as the leaves are above water. Their root systems become bright orange & they grow very well, which I assume makes them good nutrient exporters. Best of all, I think it looks cool to have them in a tank where the little fish & shrimp can use them for homes & such. I don't know if they bring luck (unless having my wife "ask" me to set up 2 more tanks in the house for her is considered good luck  ) but it looks good to me

Hey Anthony
Your living room looks better than the Vancouver Aquarium. I will have to come over for a visit. Tom R |
Anthony, how do you light the tank with the bamboo sticking so far out of the water? Looks really nice. hmm, I wonder if I have room for another tank
|
Neat looking tank, very well done.

Marie,
I use 2 spot lights from CanadianTire ($8.99/ea) & 2 Phillips Daylight CFL bulbs (23 or 26w). These are clip on lights attached to adjacent bookshelves. Here's the top of the Hex tank with 2 spot lights on Irene's Taro plant & the Lucky Bamboo. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...tic/HexTop.jpg The Taro plant has grown 2 new large leaves in less than a week since going in the tank. Must like living indoors after 4 months outside. Anthony |
Very cool ! Very nice as well
|
Very cool. Makes me wish that I could start a fresh water just for the plants but just no more room in my house for additional tanks - plus I already have a humitidy issue.
|
pretty cool anthony.
maybe I should do that to my 90g. Hmmm open top, emerging plants... Arghh... too many choice, not enough time or money.... |
