Beauitful Regal Jamie
My pride and joy is in my avatar |
Hey Josh, Thanks! So how long have you had yours. Could you share a larger image in this thread of yours?
|
Nice pic Jamie, how long did it take to get?
|
Hey Troy, Still around eh!! I don't know if I was really waiting per say. I've always wanted a red sea regal and J&L happened to get in a fair amount of them at once. So I figured that was a good time to take my pick. It's not often I've seen the red sea variety and even less often enough to pick and choose from. From my understanding it was eating clam meat from the shell in the store. Once it went in my tank it was eating food out of mid water pretty much right away. It was shy at first but now eats with the pack. It did develop Lymphocystis shortly after introduction but it's pretty much cleared up now. So do you have fish in your tank yet?

All went well, thanks (had a chain around her ankle in case she changed her mind).
I'll quit hijacking the picture thread here. I'll get in touch soon about a trip out. |
i feel like im reading thru your pm's

Here ya go Jamie.
1 week after i got her, back in early/mid april i believe... http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat...eek_in-med.JPG |
And this was about 12 days ago...
http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat...C02565-med.jpg Was a little scrawny when i got her (big als edmonton of all places). Red sea, same as yours. Fed moderatly well on mysis when they fed her at the store. Brought her home, had the lymphocites flare up as well, probably 50-60 on her dorsal and anal fins at its worst, but she always kept an interest in food. Loaded her up with garlic/selcon soaked foods, kept the water as "clean" as possible, and after 3 weeks the lymphocites disappeared. She's put on maybe 3/4" since then. False eye spot has disappeared. You can see some of her blue in the original pic with 14k lights. My camera doesnt pick up any blues since i switched to 10k's, good excuse why i havent posted pics of your frags yet  |
Here is my favourite fish...not as colourful as yours though.

Josh, How big is the regal? I thought it was a slightly different color in your avatar and that was why I wanted to see the larger image. Beauty of a find!! HOpe the frags are doing well too!! Fatpuffer, Is your puffer in a marine/reef system or brackish? Stan, I've always loved the squareblock's too. Sure pretty colors!! |
Love those Regals,
Heres my Flying Gurnard (Dactylopterus volitan), Not as colorful as yours...but i find him to be one of the most interesting fish ive ever seen. Marc. http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat..._046-thumb.jpg [/img] |

The frags are doing well, that purple stubby has amazing color. Even under my 10k's its absolutely PURPLE. the yellow "table" acro you sent has grown 4 new stalks about put on about 1/2" since its arrival. Harvey put together a calcium reactor for me thats only been running for a few days, very eager to see the growth and color once its dialed in. BTW, beautiful tank Jamie  |
I hate taking pictures of fish, they won't stay where I tell them to
