HELP!! A petsitter's guide.

I'm going away for a few days and I need to type out a quick guide for my roommate on "signs things aren't going well in the saltwater tank".. I haven't done a very good job educating him prior to this, so he thinks EVERTHING is cause for concern… Please help me type out a few things that a complete noobie can look out for... like.. cloudiness of water.. and fish floating on the surface upside down :P

Just get anthony to pop in to check on things every few hours...

he offered but I'd rather save that favor for a time when I'm going away for more than a weekend... you know... the "secret weapon"

Xtasia,

The most important thing you can do is to keep this man away from your neighbor! LOL J/K

haha

one helpful bit of advise i can offer is define in premeasued doses what exactly a small handful of food is. long story sad lesson.

My advice is to keep your instructions brief and to the point. Don't spread a green workers attention over too many things. Unless you expect something to go wrong, don't even mention the possibility. I've written out feeding and top-off instructions then called for updates.

I use those weekly pill holders you get at a drugstore with premeasured amounts of flake and such and for frozen food I make individual feeding portions and put them in seperate baggies labeled in the freezer so there is no guessing for the fish sitter, along with written instructions about when to feed, etc.
