Just pulled this guy outta my rock tonight, he's currently living in my sump, I know the picture is bad, but can anyone tell me what kinda of crab this is, and if hes good or bad.....

Try taking the picture in a clear glass bowl with a piece of paper underneath. That way people will be able to see the mystery critter better. Looks like a crab to me though :biggrin:

Oh, I guess this is the crab I asked to se a pic of in your other thread. Tough to tell in that shot, but keeping it in the sump should be fine.

looks to me like a crab a friend of mine pulled outta his 150 gallon because it was being a terror... :eek:

Looks kinda like an emerald crab to me.

If it looks like an Emerald crab, but with a brown body and red eyes, chuck it away!

give it to me, i'll feed it to my big anemone hermits :evil: :lol:

ya he sort of looks like that emerald, except hes got the dark brown/black body, with hairy legs.

i have one that looks like an emerald crab but has shiny black body and hairy legs. And its about 1.5-2 inches wide. I don't know what it eats but it stay on one rock the entire time which happens to be the biggest and heaviest rock in my tank.
I would like an ID as well if anybody knows

I think I have an exact same crab as you Chin. I have him in my sump/fuge now but used to see him all the time in the main tank scrapping coraline off of rocks to eat. Never seen him "test" anything else. He just got too big for my 40gal display, so I moved him to the sump. I just assumed he was an "African American Emerald Crab". :mrgreen:
