I wonder how many fish store owners and workers are on this forms and if they are trying to market their stores in a misleading way?

If you think about this bulletin board is a great place for word on mouth advertising and also is 100% target market for the pet stores.

I read the last post on J&L's live rock. I'm just unsure about that store. Last time I send my girl friend to J&L to pick up some supply for me (you know how hard it is to get the girl friend in the store :rolleyes: ) and they treated her like a dum ass and very bad customer service. I know that she does not know too much on fish tanks exept that I spend more time on my tank then her (that's what she says) and lots of money but still where is the friendly service?

I know that Big Al's is not the best place. With high price and they sale you things you don't need but their customer service is 5/5. Maybe that's why they are still in business?

My fav store would be OCEAN AQUATICS (www.oceanaquatics.com) great price and also the service in the best in town! The first time I went there I must of called them 8 times since I was lost and they where very helpful. I also played dum but James there helped for a whole houre and I told him I'm not ready to buy any thing but he was still giving me 5/5 service. I tell you at that point I don't care if he over charged me $5 for a fish. I would of gived it to him even as a tip!

I think all those people that owns or works in the fish store have to understand that they are working in the SERVICE industry and this hobby is not cheat so we are spending big $$ so give us some respect and friendy service!

we used to have a vendor experience forum for posting good and bad experiences with stores but we were bad and it was taken away. we also used to have a neato service so vendors could post about store specials and stock arrivals but we also seem to have lost the ability to communicate with anyone in a commercial capacity.

We used to see Bears doing naughty things.. but then it was censored.

sounds like government intervention almost.

I think that those forums should be returned, along with the links to the LFS that was on the left.

I think it was a mistake to remove those items and maybe it is time to say "we made a mistake" and bring them back.

Maybe it would be better to have a spot or way for Canreef'ers to donate if you are looking for money to suport this site. Give those who donate a premium membership that maybe has more space for pics and other goodies. JMO

It has to do with the sponsership of the board, not really anything someone did wrong, besides going on to much in some threads.

The idea of a premium membership is good Robert and something we have talked about.

Perhaps we could bring those back and say that people can only post about their experince and none can post a reply.

um thats how it was.. didn't work that time so don't think it will this time.

As an aside..

The board is run for free and is owned by one person who set the rules down. If you feel you can't follow the rules. OR accept the decisions the staff makes...

Then why are you here?

I would think it is all of our best intrest to make sure this board does well. I for one have gained more information and help here than anywhere.

The whole point of putting out ideas and different points of view is to help improve canreef, I for one would think that anyone who owns or runs a forum like this would appreciate that, don't you???

I agree people just need to accept the rules and guidlines provided by those who OWN and RUN the website. If not, leave... I mean... we all have to realize no matter how cheezy it sounds. This site is here for us, and we can't screw around if we want to keep our places here. In the long run, it's not up to you if you get to stay when you are acting out of line , etc... whatever the case may be.

No one can ever just be happy with what they have. More, more, more. Let's not take this website providing such useful information and ideas/tips and inputs for granted. Could you imagine if there were no websites out there like Canreef of Reef Central?

That would be..... scary.
