Visitng Calgary. Where to go?

I'm in Calgary on business for a week. Just wondering which stores would be worth looking at. If you have any suggestions, please give me an idea of where it is in the city. Just remember, I'm a BC boy and i'm feeling anti-clausterphobic in this vast expanse.

There are 4 that I would recommend.

Golds on 17th Ave SE (Forest Lawn)
Wais Aquarium on 16th Ave (west of Edmonton Tr.)
Big Als Aquarium (Heritage Dr & McLeod Tr S)
Oceans Aquarium ( Centre St at about 25th Ave NE)

There is also Riverfront Aquariums on Riverfront Ave.

A lot of people frown on Riverfront Aquariums but I've had really good luck with their livestock despite the appearance of the store.

yeah riverfront is not very welcoming.. but i dont think they're that bad.. only been there a few times though.

I dont like riverfront that much. Plus there prices are pretty steep even compared to other stores. My order of stores to visit would be Golds, Big Als, Wais, Riverfront.

hah i would probably prefer riverfront over wais if it were closer

They're only 18 blocks apart... How much closer does it have to be?

Muck, what kind of stock are you refering? Fish or corals?
Eveytime I've been there they have had lots of everything, SPS, LPS, softies, tangs, angel fish, and others. Perhaps you were just unlucky?

Both...
The 2 or 3 times I have been there they had mostly empty tanks and a few common common corals.
Nothing interesting at all.

Must have been unlucky I guess....

Oceans is somewhat like golds, you have to be there the day / day after new stock arrives, tends to go pretty quick.

Some days its chock full, go the next and it's empty.

I was in Calgary over the weekend and found Big Als to have NOTHING!!! Very dissapointed with them. Wai's is a really neat little shop... found that it almost broke me!!!! Riverfront had some cool stuff and from what I saw their prices have come down substantially... maybe worth checking out? As for Golds and Oceans... crap, missed them, guess I have another excuse to head down to visit you Cow Town Hosers!!! hehehe Just kidding... sort of!
