What are your three favorite bands?

What are your three favorite bands and your favorite song by them? I might have created a post like this awhile back or someonelse did. In that case could a mod just delete this thread? Here goes nothing.

Rammstein- Sonne
Rob Zombie- SuperBeast

what do you like?

Matt

Bob I 06-01-2005 01:15 AM

I'd have a tough time listing my top 300 but I'll throw three great songs out.

Johnny Cash - Sunday Morning Coming Down (written by Kris Kristoferson)

Led Zeppelin - Bron Y Aur Stomp

Elvis Presley - Baby Let's Play House

Rikko 06-01-2005 05:23 AM

Wow I can't believe how close to the same genre we all are.. Or are the hip hoppers and country bumkins scared?

I'll have to give my vote to
Garbage - Bleed Like Me (formerly Enough is Never Enough from the B-Sides)
Splashdown - Karma Slave (you might know it from the Titan A.E. soundtrack)
Poe - Center Of The Sun

I like Beethoven's "Pathetique" Sonata and moonlight sonata. Bach's "Air on G String" is a cool song too.

Yngwie Malmsteen's "Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra in E Flat Minor Op. 1" is something different, but none-the-less very cool.

Johnny Reefer 06-01-2005 09:59 PM

Enigma- The Screen Behind The Mirror. (The whole damn album).

and...what about solo artists?...do they count?

Edie Brickell- Circle
Enya- Carribean Blue

I haven't heard that name since I was 14 or 15. Is he still putting out music? Are you an Alan Holdsworth fan as well?

Today's artists of the day

Dylan: Everythings Broken
The Band: Cripple Creek
Kid Rock: Cowboy Baby

Yeah, I'm with you and muck as well, best band you never heard of.

As for the modern country, I do enjoy Corb Lund but I'm more of a Sadies, Tom Wilson and Be Good Tanyas fan.

Wear lots of black?

Seriously, good choices. Nice avatar too. Is that by the same guy who did "Clash of the Seasons" with Santa vs The Easter Bunny?

Edmonton Eskimo 06-02-2005 05:28 AM

The smalls do rock. I got to see them at the skate warehouse and it was awesome. Eva it sounds like you have good taste in music

can't say I've heard of him :o is he like yngwie? I saw malmsteen in toronto in 03 on a g3 tour (with satriani and vai). quite the experience.

Troy F 06-02-2005 02:57 PM

No, I wouldn't compare the two really. Just that most guys that end up interested in guitar players find their way to Holdsworth. He's the musician's musician for guitar players.

Invigor 06-02-2005 04:15 PM

haven't stumbled yet, but there are a lot of guitar virtuosos -- too many to come across when you're still young like me, lol!

I'll look around and see what I can find on this guy.
