Updated Great Pic - Shrimp in Clam!!!!! Cool!!
I picked up a new squamosa clam this weekend and noticed today a very small black and white dotted shrimp living inside it. Pictures are not that great. I will try to get a better shot.

Can you upload them here? I'm not a part of msn groups...
 |
Thats very cool, I did not know there were commensal shrimp for clams! or maybe it is parasitic?
|
Its definatly a shrimp. It almost walked out of the clam when I first saw it. I ran to get my camera and it hasnt backed up since to let me get a good shot of it.. All I could get was a shot of its butt
AJ, I'm not sure why you cant see it.. strange.. I tried to upload them but the file is too big. |
Nice clam! Where did you get it? And how big is it? I would like to get another soon. I need 2 of each  !
That is cool with the shrimp! Can't wait for more pics though!! |
I guess I'm still behind the big nasty corporate firewall... have to try from the home PC.
|
That is very cool, symbiotic relationships (if this is one) are probably my favourite part of the hobby. Good pics too.

I PU the clam From OA. They have a few more. They are all stunning. I will be parked infront of the tank untill I get a better shot...
Well... maybe not that long |
I see them now - cool shots! Really hard to get that detail - and inside the clam... yow. Pretty neat stuff.

From what I can see it almost looks like this anemone shrimp I had a while ago. Maybe its confused or had no anemone to host so it found the next best thing at the time.
|
Wow!! Thats is really neat.
Thanks for sharing some photos. |
Well patience is everything... Here he is..

Why do I feel like a pervert??
I wonder how long it has lived in there - and at what size it managed to sneak inside? Does anyone know if this sort of thing has been reported before? Still pretty cool, even if it is like looking up somebody's skirt... |
Lol @ AJ!
That really cool. Thanks for sharing! Chris |
Does he look something like this ? Small shrimp sometimes do live inside the inhalant siphon. Apparently they don't harm the clam. They are from the shrimp family Palaemondidae. Thats a great pic you got
