Any latin majors out there???

Ok so here I am asking about Green Chromis at the LFS. It became a 4 way conversation. (The clerk, owner, another customer and myself) In the end, my question about optimal school numbers went by the wayside and an arguement ensued about the plural of "Chromis" So I was wondering what is the correct plural of chromis?

Matt

there is no plural for fish, it's fish for single and plural.

I vote for Chromis (as singular & plural form).

As in "6 Green Chromis please. No make that 8 Chromis."

Just checked wetwebmedia & they only use "Chromis."

Accually Willow, you are wrong here. multiple fish of the same species are fish. Multiple fish of differant species are fishes. Isn't it easier just to point and say "Look at the pretty swimming things."

Thanks for that Seahorse, that was what my money was on. Though I thought Chromi had a chance.

TECHNICALLY,
fish is the plural and singular form for one species. if you are refering to more then one species, then it is fishes.
