MH Ballasts -Edmonton/Calgary

Just trying to gauge some interest on Ballast setups....These would be your normal Coil and cap ballasts....These would be DIY setups.

Pricing as follows
Single ballast setups
175W $80
250W $90
400W $100

Double Ballast setups
175W $150
250W $170
400W $190

All setups come with Ballast box 6FT cord(longer cord is $2 per foot more), and Mogul Base(no reflector),These come with cord ends and a 8ft cord to attach to your MH mogul base..

Do these Prices sound resonable...would anyone be intersted in these???

mr_alberta 04-03-2005 03:57 PM

Are you sure they are M80's? I think M80's are the HQI ballasts? If they are M80's I'd be very interested in either a single or double 250W...

muck 04-03-2005 04:09 PM

I may be interested if they are HQI ballast as well...

Aquattro 04-03-2005 04:09 PM

No, thy're not all M80's. Likely M57 (175w), M58 (250w) and M59 (400w). M80 is a HQI 250w, if IRC. Or was that M81? Steve??

BlkWolfe 04-03-2005 04:54 PM

Id be interested in a dual 250...

KrazyKuch 04-06-2005 01:57 AM

I should have all the ballasts in and most made up by next weekend...ie the 15th through 17th.....Been busy haven't been able to call around yet for the HQI's yet sorry will try to get that done tomorrow!!

Richer 04-07-2005 04:46 AM

Is there a deadline for this? I may be in for a double 250w setup, but I will not be able to confirm until Friday evening at the earliest.

-Rich

KrazyKuch 04-07-2005 02:15 PM

No deadline Although Prices are not set in stone...I will know exactly how much after I build the first one!!! I have put you on the list!!!

possitive k 04-12-2005 11:27 PM

can you ship

KrazyKuch 04-13-2005 02:34 PM

I can but shipping would be exspensive I would imagine!!!

KrazyKuch 04-15-2005 02:30 PM

Well I am making up the first one Today so I will have pics and a definate Price!!!

RobbAdams 04-15-2005 03:47 PM

How much for a triple 175 watter! or a triple 250?

KrazyKuch 04-15-2005 03:59 PM

I don't know as of yet...after today I will know for sure prices!!!

KrazyKuch 04-17-2005 08:46 PM

Well I got the price in and it's higher then i had originally posted unfortunatly things cost a bit more then I thought they would...

It's gonna cost $250 for a Double 250W ballast....Measurements are as follows 8x8x6 with a 6'ft power cord and 8'ft cords to go to the lights themselves.Have built in plugs for timers and individual switchs

Now if you are looking for cheaper I can make them alot cheaper with alot less features the base model will be approx $200.....

I will post pics later tonight of the finished unit!!

What features will be missing?

JOEL 04-18-2005 02:59 AM

I may be interested in a duel 250 watt hqi unit how much will they cost.
And are they m80 ballasts.

mr_alberta 04-18-2005 03:02 AM

Any chance you will make them with built in timers Kevin? I'd be interested in that...it would save a lot of room as well on the powerbar.

Richer 04-18-2005 05:03 AM

Also, are those 250w ballasts m80s (HQI) or m58s?

-Rich

KrazyKuch 04-18-2005 05:08 AM

Actually neither.....I have the new and improved M250's but weither they will fire a HQI I am not sure...some say yes while others say no so I will have to test them.....

Does anyone have an old HQI bulb and base that would be willing to lend for a test???

Their will be plugs on the front ment for timers to be plugged in to save room on the power bar!!! Pics to come soon!!!

Richer 04-18-2005 05:16 AM

According to http://www.goodmart.com/products/35779.htm M250s are the same as M58 ballasts...

here is a pic as promised!!!

http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat...0MHBallast.JPG

the plugs on the front are for timers to be plugged in!!!

mr_alberta 04-18-2005 05:34 AM

M58? Sorry Kevin, I'll have to back out of this if that is the case as my bulbs won't work on them.

KrazyKuch 04-18-2005 05:52 AM

Still looking into HQI....Haveing a hard time finding a cheap place to get some!!! Will keep posted on progress with that!!

Richer 04-18-2005 06:15 AM

I'm going to back out as well.

-Rich

RobbAdams 04-18-2005 08:33 PM

So what are the basic differences between the $200 and $250 version?

Robb

KrazyKuch 04-19-2005 02:26 AM

Basically lighted switches and spots for timers on the unit itself..

RobbAdams 04-19-2005 02:48 PM

OK How much for a bare bones 3 x 250 watt set up.

KrazyKuch 04-20-2005 02:39 PM

a 3 x 250W would be $300 measurements would be as follows 12" x 12" x 6"

RobbAdams 04-20-2005 02:43 PM

So all I would need would be the Bulbs and reflectors correct?

KrazyKuch 04-20-2005 06:15 PM

Correct!!

RobbAdams 04-21-2005 04:54 PM

How soon could I have one if I decide to "Order" one. I would like it to come via greyhound (Cheapola). I am also considering a dual 400 watt set up . what would be the cost for something like that?
