With 400-watt lights as bright as the sun and a $1,000 monthly Hydro bill, some people have been suspicious.
wow man. that's insane...do they have their numbers mixed up or do you have more than a 27g tank?

they must be, i had a chiller running 24/7 and a/c running 24/7 in my apartment in texas and my bill just tipped 175 bucks a month and thats at roughly 3 times of what bc hydro charges per kilowatt.

LostMind 03-07-2005 01:10 AM

They were referring to ocean aquatics with the 400w lights and $1000 Hydro bill.... not sumpinfishe's setup :)

Zerandise 03-07-2005 01:41 AM

nice! Way to nab your 15 minutes!!!

Yeah most likely talking about OA. If not then you need to shut down the grop op behind the tank lol :)

AJ_77 03-07-2005 01:47 AM

What a great article - way to go Rich! Good to see something positive and well-balanced, and informative too. Best read in a long time.

Somebody archive that page!

Samw 03-07-2005 01:50 AM

Yes, clearly, the $1,000 bill was Ocean Aquatics' since Co-Owner James Scott was talking about 1000 corals and 1500 gallons of water and the bill.

sumpfinfishe 03-07-2005 03:14 AM

Thanks all
Your words are too kind!
I wonder if this means that I can now triple the price of my frag's
and yes that $1000 bill wasn't mine

Happy Reefing

Invigor 03-07-2005 03:44 AM

sumpfinfishe 03-08-2005 08:48 PM

Thanks again,

Yeah I'm really happy with the article, assit. editor Paula.C of the Surrey Leader did and amazing job. I thought for sure over the course of the 2 hr interview that something would of got twisted around or there would be a few misprints.

Ryan your not the first to mention that, so I guess I better go out and see if I can get some matching pants afterall

SeaHorse_Fanatic 03-08-2005 10:16 PM

Good job Rich. This article was really enjoyable to read.

Rich, way to go.

Can't imagine a $1000 a month hydro bill though on NO Fluorescents (lol).

That article was nicely written and represented Rich well and it certainly cant hurt OA at all. Hope to see more people in the hobby.

Doug

sumpfinfishe 03-09-2005 02:59 PM

If I may add, this whole article wouldn't have been written in the first place
if it wasn't for Paul's Aquarium

Thank's a million Paul
